After winning their season opener with ease, the New York Liberty remain the WNBA championship odds favorites and should keep rolling tonight against the Chicago Sky at 8 p.m. ET (WNBA League Pass) from Wintrust Arena in Chicago.

Our Liberty vs. Sky prediction expects Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu to have their way with Angel Reese and Co. as 11.5-point betting favorites across our best sports betting sites

🏀 Liberty vs. Sky prediction & WNBA best bet

🎯 Score prediction: Liberty 90, Sky 75

The Sky's putrid performance in their opening game of the season against the Indiana Fever got overshadowed by the annoying online discourse around the Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese rivalry. However, Chicago has far bigger problems than the Reese vs. Clark talk after losing by 35 to a Fever team that followed up that win by giving up 91 to the Atlanta Dream.

For as unstoppable as Clark is, the Liberty are on a different level than the Fever with the Stewart-Ionescu-Jonquel Jones trio. Those three just led New York to its first title and then blew the Las Vegas Aces, and reigning MVP A'ja Wilson, out of the water in the first game of the season.

Sandy Brondello had her team lead the WNBA in offensive rating (109.6) last year while hitting the most 3-pointers per game (10.1). How is Chicago going to stop this offense? The Sky gave up 93 in their season opener and are relying so heavily on 36-year-old Courtney Vandersloot to lead the backcourt.

Vandersloot doesn't stand a chance against Ionescu, who was fourth in the league in 3-pointers per game last year (2.8). Plus, Stewart is still a monster and an MVP candidate after dropping 25 on the Aces in the opener. So while Reese and Kamilla Cardoso give the Sky two building blocks in the frontcourt, neither is equipped to slow down Stewie.

This is the best team in the WNBA, taking on one of the few teams that's probably capable of losing to the expansion Golden State Valkyries by double digits. The Liberty could be favored by a lot more than 11 points at our best sports betting sites, and I'd still back them to cover.
