Eight-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer advanced to his first Grand Slam final since the 2018 Australian Open after a 7-6(3), 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 win over No.3 seed Rafael Nadal on Friday at Center Court. Federer had too much firepower for the Spaniard with 51 winners to just 32 from his opponent. The 37-year-old Swiss also won 75.76% of the points at the net to beat Nadal and become the third oldest man since the beginning of the Open Era in 1968 to reach a major final.

Federer will next take on defending champion Novak Djokovic, who extended his winning record at the All England Club to 13 matches after a four-set victory against Roberto Bautista Agut in two hours and 49 minutes. Despite losing the second set, Djokovic played a very solid match and only conceded one break of serve to Roberto. On the other hand, the 15-time Grand Slam champion ended the match with 42 winners to just 29 unforced errors and won 51.43% of the points played on Bautista Agut’s second serve.

This will be the 48th official meeting between these two players on the ATP Tour. Djokovic leads 25-22 in their head-to-head and won 19 of their last 28 official encounters since 2011.

The Serbian has been one of the most successful player at majors in recent years and won all his last four meetings at Grand slam events against Federer, including two at the All England Club. On the other hand, Djokovic had a much easier path to the final and that can prove decisive against Federer, who needed more than three hours to beat Nadal in a very tough battle.
