Will Kevin Owens & "The Fiend" Save WWE Extreme Rules?

profile

The event starts at 7:00 PM ET on the WWE Network next Sunday, with the kickoff show beginning at 6:00 PM ET. Not many surprises can be expected but let’s hope Owens and Wyatt show up and cause some chaos.

Here’s a look at the WWE Extreme Rules card and a breakdown for some of the matches.

Universal Championship & Raw Women’s Championship Winners Take All: Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch vs. Baron Corbin & Lacey Evans (Extreme Rules Match)

This is a match that should have happened on Raw, not on a pay-per-view. Rollins and Lynch should have had new challengers for their championships and they should have separate matches, I’m glad they found each other in real life and they make a great couple but there’s no need to showcase their relationship on-screen for so many weeks.

WWE Championship: Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe lost the United States Championship against Ricochet and all of a sudden he attacks Kingston (who’s on a different brand than him) for no reason. The outcome is predictable, sadly, is hard to imagine Samoa Joe winning but hopefully Brock Lesnar cashes in his Money In The Bank briefcase on Kingston, I just haven’t enjoyed his reign, he’s a great talent but I hoped he would ditch his New Day persona once he won the WWE Championship, I just can’t take him seriously.

Roman Reigns & The Undertaker vs. Shane McMahon & Drew McIntyre (No Holds Barred Match)

This is another feud that has to end. Roman Reigns keeps getting pushed to the moon without deserving it, The Undertaker showing up no longer motivates me and having him help a former WrestleMania opponent makes no sense, Shane McMahon should not be taking so much air time from talented wrestlers and Drew McIntyre has been wasted since coming back over a year ago, he should have been a WWE or Universal Champion months ago, not Shane McMahon’s bodyguard.

After his pipe bomb on SmackDown LIVE, Kevin Owens will likely get involved. It wouldn’t surprise me if Dolph Ziggler, Elias and The Revival try to help Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre and then The Miz and Kevin Owens show up to even the odds but I what I really hope to see if Bray Wyatt unleash “The Fiend” on everyone and start a feud with The Undertaker.

United States Championship: Ricochet (c) vs. AJ Styles

This match can steal the show, The Club is finally back! AJ Styles shines in a role he’s given but seeing him with Gallows and Anderson is always special and we all know what Ricochet is capable of in the ring! Styles doesn’t need the United States Championship, I would make Gallows and Anderson intervene so neither Styles or Ricochet loses.

SmackDown Women’s Championship: Bayley (c) vs. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross (2-on-1 Handicap Match)

I haven’t enjoyed this feud much, Bayley’s mic-skills are just awful but she can go in the ring, so this should be a good match, I would have Bliss and Cross dominate and then Sasha Banks come back to save Bayley, just before turning heel on her former tag-team partner, setting up a long-awaited feud with her. I would also tease Bliss vs. Cross feud, with Bliss blaming Cross for not winning.

Aleister Black vs. Cesaro

Now we know that Cesaro was the one who knocked on Aleister Black’s door and this is another match that can steal the show but Black can’t lose his first big match on the main roster, which means that Cesaro will not win and I don’t agree with that. Cesaro is another wasted talent, hopefully this ends with both men unable to continue or with a disqualification, I just don’t want one of them to lose.

Here’s the rest of the card:

Braun Strowman vs. Bobby Lashley (Last Man Standing Match)

Raw Tag Team Championship: The Revival (c) vs. The Usos

SmackDown Tag Team Championship: Daniel Bryan & Rowan (c) vs. The New Day vs. Heavy Machinery

Cruiserweight Championship: Drew Gulak (c) vs. Tony Nese
