It's getting desperate for QPR, but can they get anything at the Hawthorns? William Hill's Lee Phelps is looking at the betting and has found some good odds for his free pick.

Queens Park Rangers are desperate for a win and really could have done with an open team to face, not this Tony Pulis defensive machine. They are second bottom and must start winning soon.

West Brom
The Baggies have kept six clean sheets in seven games in all competitions at the Hawthorns under Pulis. In total they have conceded three goals (all versus Tottenham) in those seven games, they had let in 19 in the previous 12 under the old regime.

They haven’t been scoring loads of goals, but have only drawn a blank in one of their Premier League home matches under the baseball-capped one. Brown Ideye and Saido Berahino have been sharing those goals. The England under 21 striker has actually banged in 15 of his 18 goals this season in front of his own fans.

He’s also the third highest scoring Englishman in the division, with QPR’s Charlie Austin second in that list with 15. They’re both behind Harry Kane.

QPR
Rangers have lost 17 of their last 19 Barclays Premier League away matches (W1 D1 L17) and  only two teams in Premier League history have ever had fewer points away from home after 14 away matches (Sunderland 2 in 2007-08 and Burnley 1 in 2009-10).

QPR also give themselves a handicap too often, the stats show they have conceded the first goal in 23 of their 30 Premier League games; more often than any other team.

That added pressure on their goal tells in their goal keeper and more experienced defenders too, with Rob Green the most error prone stopper. He has made more errors leading to opposition goals than any other player this season (5), while Joleon Lescott has given away three penalties; again that is more than any other player.

Soccer picks
I find it hard to see how QPR win at the Hawthorns, despite Austin’s good scoring record, only five of his 15 goals have been away and they are facing this stingy backline. I can’t back West Brom at soccer odds on either, so I’m looking at that stat about QPR giving away first goals and pairing with the fact Berahino has bagged 83% of his goals at home for my soccer pick.
