Chelsea heads to West Midlands to face West Bromwich Albion in the Week 37 EPL fixture which has little meaning for either club, making a soccer pick on the Under looks seemingly wise.

Odds Overview
West Bromwich Albion vs. Chelsea, Monday 20:00 (NBCSN, NBC Sports Live Extra, (US); Sky Sports 1/HD, Sky Go, Sky Go Extra, NOW TV (UK), 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT): English Premier League winners Chelsea (25-9-2, 70 GF-28 GA, 84 points) head to West Midlands and The Hawthorns on Monday to play 13th-place West Bromwich Albion (10-11-15, 34 GF-47 GA, 41 points) in a fixture with little meaning for either club quite honestly outside of pride and maybe some more points in the table. Soccer odds makers have made visitors Chelsea +100 favorites with West Brom +260 home underdogs and the Draw priced at +250 (bet365). The Total (Goals) in this game has been set at 2½ Under -137 (Over +107, bet365) while the Both Teams To Score Prop wager sees the ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ both priced at -120 (bet365). Some Prop wagers for this contest: Correct Score: 0-0 +900, 1-1 +600, 2-2 +1800, Chelsea 1-0 +650, Chelsea 2-0 +300, Chelsea 2-1 +850, Chelsea 3-1 +1800, West Brom 1-0 +1000, West Brom 2-1 +1200 (bet365); and, Draw No Bet: Chelsea -225, West Brom +162 (bet365).

Chelsea FC
Chelsea (11-5-2 Away, 37 GF-20 GA) manager José Mourinho has said he would like to get his Blues to the 90-point plateau this season, which now, after Sunday’s milktoast 1-1 Draw with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, means that the new English Premier League champions will have to win this game against the Baggies as well as the Week 38 season curtain closer (May 24) versus Sunderland in West London to get the necessary 6 points to get to that end. Doable. for sure against the Baggies and Black Cats. Here against West Bromwich Albion, expect the Blues to again use some second-string players like Loïc Rémy (5 goals, Anytime Goalscorer +125, Sky Bet), John Obi Mikel (+1400), Filipe Luis (+2000) and Juan Cuadrado (+350) alongside some regulars like star attacking midfielder Eden Hazard (14 goals, 8 assists, +137) and legendary captain John Terry (+600)—who has played every minute of every Chelsea game this championship season which has seen the West London club lose to just three teams in all competitions since play began in August: Newcastle United (EPL), Bradford City (FA Cup) and Tottenham Hotspur (EPL). Despite the absence of injured star striker Diego Costa (19 goals, hamstring), the aging and slowing of 37-year-old club talisman Didier Drogba (4 goals, +250) and playmaker Cesc Fàbregas (3 goals, 18 assists, +600) slowing some in the season’s Second Half, Chelsea has still found a way to prevail through top-notch, hard-working, energy-expending Defense, frustrating most opponents in England’s top flight of football, thanks to an incredibly solid back four and maybe the best Goalkeeper combination (Petr Cech and Thibaut Courtois) in the history of the sport. Preach.

West Bromwich Albion FC
West Bromwich Albion (6-4-8 Home, 21 GF-26 GA) ensured it would stay up in the Premier League next season for a seventh straight year over the weekend with a point in a 1-1 Draw to Newcastle United. So, major props to the club for bringing in Tony Pulis as manager at the perfect time to get to that wonderful end. And besides bringing Pulis in to save the day, the Baggies should also thank their Lucky Stars that there are a number of teams currently in or on their way out of the league that are way worse than them and that they survived the 2014/2015 season with such an anemic Offensive attack. After West Brom’s main leading scorer—Saido Berahino (12 goals, +175, Anytime Goalscorer, Sky Bet)—there is a massive drop-off with the Baggies with Brown Ideye (4 goals, +250), Victor Anichebe (3 goals, +200), Craig Gardner (3 goals, +250), James Morrison (2 goals, +450) and Craig Dawson (2 goals, +600) the only other Baggies with multiple goals with just two weeks left in the season. And they say that Chelsea is boring. One thing that West Bromwich can thank for staying up in the Premier League has been its Defense, and the Baggies and unheralded 32-year-old English goalkeeper Ben Foster have allowed the least amount of goals (47) of the team’s in the bottom half (11th-20th) of the English Premier League table. Because of Chelsea’s desire for the win and 3 points here and the reality that a great GK will be in the Starting XI for the Blues, combined with the Baggies Offensive ineptitude and their own solid Defense, taking the Under (2½ -137, bet365) seems wise as again, neither team really has anything to play for and there may be a fresh face or two in both sides here at The Hawthorns on Monday night.

Series Trends and Best Betting Approaches
Overall in all competitions, Chelsea is 46-28-33 (181 GF-152 GA) lifetime against West Bromwich Albion and 44-25-32 (171 GF-138 GA) in English Premier League play. Here at The Hawthorns, the Baggies have really held their own against Chelsea, with the Blues 18-12-20 (63 GF-83 GA) against the baggies and being outscored by 20 goals by West Brom in league play over the history of this professional European football league. Over the L10 meetings, Chelsea is 6-2-2 (18 GF-8 GA) against the Baggies with the Blues winning 2-0 versus 10-man West Brom in Week 12 in the first meeting this season at Stamford Bridge on goals by Costa and Hazard. The same scoreline (Exact Score Prop: Chelsea 2-0 +900, bet365) could very well end up happening here with Hazard and maybe Rémy or a Chelsea defender like the dependable Branislav Ivanovic (+550), César Azpilicueta (+2000), Gary Cahill (+650), Nemanja Matic (+600) or maybe even youngster Kurt Zouma (+550, Boylesports) putting the sheep’s bladder past the painted white line. This gritty team really doesn’t care where it ultimately gets its goals from, and all Blues players can score, a very nice luxury seldom talked about. And it’s nice for Chelsea, which should play better than it did against the Reds of Liverpool on Sunday at SW6, to be able to turn to this nice little reality with years of little scoring output from the striker position and the club’s leading scorer this season (Costa) injured and out for such a long time.

This final EPL game of Week 37 will probably be a snoozer, with the Baggies possibly threatening early on and the Blues holding them off and then getting that aforementioned first goal from one of the club’s key cogs this season, Hazard or Terry, and then settling back and concentrating on Defense as this team almost robotically does. Bus parking to some whiners. And at this price (Even), why In The Name Of Roberto Di Matteo would you not want to back with your soccer picks the best Defensive team in the league (Chelsea) which has said that it will try to reach 90 points and which has lost just one time this calendar year (Spurs, New Years Day) against an anemic Offensive team like West Brom with nothing to play for? Mourinho isn’t the type of manager to let his team lose here and if it does end up a Draw, then backing the chalk Chelsea at +100 may still seem like a bargain. And with this game a full week away, the Premier League soccer odds could very well rise 15 to 35 cents in the Blues direction as the General Public probably won’t want to back West Brom or the Draw in the day’s lone game, one many will want to have action on simply because of that fact. Chelsea is the logical and potentially value-laden call here.

Predicted Final Score: West Brom 0 Chelsea 2

Premier League Soccer Pick: Chelsea +100, Under 2½ -137 at Bet365
