We’ve won our last four picks in a row and now we have a single game slate on WNBA action on Wednesday, as the Liberty travel out west to face the Seattle Storm.

Jordan’s WNBA Picks 10-14-1

New York Liberty at Seattle Storm

The Storm lost a close one to Phoenix in their most recent game and that was their first home loss of the season. Now after a few days to stew on it and rest, the Liberty are coming to town for a noontime start out West.

The Liberty have also had two days off, but the early start on the road will be a bit tough for a squad still without Amanda Zahui B and Bria Hartley, who are still over in Europe playing for Sweden and France respectfully in international competition.

Without Zahui B, the Liberty have little next to Tina Charles that will be able to slow down Natasha Howard. Charles may end up getting that assignment, but it’s not a great option for coach Katie Smith to have her most important offensive option guarding the Storm’s best player.

Seattle is probably still without Jewell Loyd, but Jordin Canada has been filling in nicely, so I’m not as concerned even though the Liberty have some good guards Kia Nurse and Asia Durr.

However, what has been most telling and one of the more important factors in my play on this game is the Liberty’s lack of offense on the road, combined with an even bigger lack of defense, especially in the first halves of games.

In five road games this season, the Liberty are averaging just 89.2 points per 100 possessions, while allowing 109. They have been playing a lot better since they got demolished by the Aces a little over two weeks ago, but they still have some issues this afternoon with the Storm. Over Seattle’s last five games, they have given up just 84.8 points per 100 possessions in the first half. I’ll lay four with them at one or two units in this matinee contest.

My Pick: Storm 1H

Best Line Offered: Pinnacle

Check Out More Game Odds Here
