The quest to repeat as champions will begin on Tuesday night, as the USA men's team takes on another possible contender in Honduras. What kind of soccer odds can we expect to find?

USA vs. Honduras: CONCACAF Odds Overview
Though the Hondurans are no slouches, the soccer odds are clearly in the USA's favor come Tuesday night. The Americans are quoted at approximately -215 to secure the crucial three points in their group opener.

That leaves a Honduras victory available at close to +750, with a draw listed at +350 at most of the top online sportsbooks, including BetOnline. The O/U for goals is at 2.5, and right now the UNDER (-115) is getting more love from the public than the OVER (+100).

The defending Gold Cup champions are back and ready to defend their title, and they're of course one of the top overall favorites on the soccer futures odds board to win the whole shebang once again.

What's more, the Americans have looked very strong in the buildup to the tournament, reeling off a four-match winning streak that's seen them beat Mexico, Netherlands, Germany and Guatemala. Sure, their opponents may not have been at full strength in those matches, but that little stretch has to be a nice boost of confidence for Jurgen Klinsmann's team. The USA last took the pitch this past Friday in a dominant 4-0 victory over the Guatemalans in Nashville.

It was an ideal preparation period for the Americans, who seem to have adjusted nicely to the captain change (and the change of the guard at the goalkeeper position). Michael Bradley has taken over the captain's band after Clint Dempsey's shameful suspension, and Brad Guzan has become the first choice goalie since Tim Howard retired from international play. Will the USA get off to a dream start in their opener with Honduras on Tuesday evening?

While not considered a top favorite to win the Gold Cup, other teams would be foolish to take this Honduran outfit lightly in the competition. That's especially true now that Jorge Luis Pinto has taken over the Honduras national team; you may remember him from his successful stint in charge of Costa Rica, who surprised everyone with a terrific run in last year's World Cup.

Pinto has some talent at his disposal, but all eyes will be on Andy Najar, who is one of the most exciting players in the entire competition. Najar plies his trade with Anderlecht and has scored seven goals in 43 appearances for the club. Najar will be the main danger man and the Americans will have to be wary of him throughout.

Getting at least a point out of this showdown with the US would be huge, as this is an extremely tough group with Panama also involved. We'll surely see a very motivated Honduras outfit, and we know they'll be prepared under Pinto.

Gold Cup Pick
We're eager to see how the Americans come out and play in their first competitive match for quite some time, but based on how well they've been playing in the leadup, we like their chances of grabbing a win over the gritty Hondurans on Tuesday night.

Having won four straight matches (albeit in friendlies) against strong competition, this USA squad appears to be in the right frame of mind heading into the Gold Cup. It's certainly not going to come easy against Honduras here in the opener, but the Americans will have a boost from the home support and they appear to be clicking on the pitch right now.

As a result, we'll be recommending that back the USA with Soccer picks to win outright in what should be a highly competitive showdown. This opener will set the tone for the rest of the competition, so a positive result would do wonders for Klinsmann's group.
