Anett Kontaveit (21) vs Belinda Bencic (13)

Saturday, August 31 at Flushing Meadows

Belinda Bencic continued her strong run of form at the US Open, defeating Alize Cornet 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 in two hours and eight minutes. The former junior world No.1 has enjoyed tremendous success this year on the WTA Tour, winning her third tour-level title at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. Bencic is yet to make it past the quarterfinals of a major but this tournament is a great opportunity for her to reach her maiden Grand Slam semifinal.

Looking now at Belinda’s draw on this event, the Swiss will next face Anett Kontaveit in the third round of the US Open. The No.21 seed battled from a set down to beat Ajla Tomljanovic on Thursday at Court 15. Kontaveit is one of the most powerful players on the WTA Tour and enjoys the conditions at Flushing Meadows.

Despite Anett’s undeniable quality, Bencic is a very tough matchup for powerful hitters. Belinda is one of the best players at absorbing and redirecting pace, which is very useful against players such as Kontaveit. On the other hand, Anett has only made it past the third round at Flushing Meadows in one of her previous four appearances on this event. For that reason, we’ll add Belinda’s moneyline to our parlay as the best betting approach for this third-round match.

Pablo Carreno Busta vs David Goffin (15)

Friday, August 30 at Flushing Meadows

David Goffin arrived in New York full of confidence after a brilliant start to the US Open series. The 28-year-old Belgian reached his maiden Masters 1000 final at the Western & Southern Open, losing only to Daniil Medvedev in two close sets. Goffin also made it to the quarterfinals in Wimbledon and is already the No.11 on the ATP Race to London.

Pablo Carreno Busta is Goffin’s next opponent on this tournament and the two players will face each other for the first time since 2013. The Spaniard leads 1-0 in their head-to-head but this will be a completely different match. Their previous encounter took place six years ago on clay when none of them had reached their full potential.

Carreno Busta is one of the greatest fighters on the ATP Tour but it’s hard to go against Goffin at the moment. The Belgian is an exceptional ball striker and the fast conditions in New York suit his style. Adding to this, Goffin won 15 of his last 20 matches on the ATP Tour won 15 of his last 20 matches on the ATP Tour and is currently on a seven-match winning streak when priced as favorite. With this in mind, our suggestion is to take Goffin’s moneyline to continue his good run of form this Friday against Carreno Busta at Flushing Meadows.
