Christian Garin (31) vs Christopher Eubanks (WC)
Christopher Eubanks received a wild card to the US Open main draw for the second time in his career. The 23-year-old is a two-time All-American but never made it to the Top 100. Eubanks has a very powerful serve and is always a dangerous player on these fast conditions. Nevertheless, Christopher competes mostly on the Challenger Tour and has a terrible 4-11 overall record on the ATP Tour.
Eubanks will open his US Open campaign against Christian Garin on Monday at Court 7. The Chilean is having the best season of his career, winning two ATP Tour titles in Houston and Munich. Garin will make his first main draw appearance at the US Open and has a great opportunity to reach the second round in New York. Eubanks will have a very difficult task against Christian’s solid baseline game, which makes the Chilean the best play for this first-round match.
Serena Williams (8) vs Maria Sharapova
Serena Williams will have another chance to equal Margaret Court’s all-time Grand Slam record. The six-time US Open champion is one of the main contenders to lift the trophy and although she hasn’t won a title since giving birth to her daughter, Serena reached the final in three of the last five majors.
Williams loves to compete in New York and never lost in the opening round of this tournament. On the other hand, Maria Sharapova has struggled for form in recent years and has a terrible record against this opponent. It’s hard to ignore Serena’s dominance over Sharapova in the last 14 years with the American winning 18 consecutive matches against this opponent. William is the main favorite for this match and should live up to expectations, which makes her moneyline an interesting line to add to our parlay.
Stefanos Tsitsipas (8) vs Andrey Rublev
Stefanos Tsitsipas has enjoyed a successful 2019, reaching his maiden Grand Slam semifinal at the Australian Open in January. The 21-year-old also became the first Greek player to ever break into the Top 10 and won two ATP Tour titles in Marseille and Estoril. Tsitsipas never made it past the second round at Flushing Meadows but the fast conditions on this event suit his style.
Looking now at Stefanos’ draw on this event, the No.8 seed will open his campaign against Andrey Rublev on Tuesday at Louis Armstrong Stadium. The Russian is a very dangerous player on these fast conditions and made it to the US Open quarterfinals in 2017. Adding to this, Rublev also defeated Roger Federer two weeks ago at the Western & Southern Open, reaching the quarterfinals of a Masters 1000 event for the first time in his career. However, Rublev has played a lot of tennis in the last two weeks and will only have a couple of recover for this tournament. Tsitsipas loves the big stage and should be too strong in the end for the Russian, which makes Stefanos’ moneyline the best line to add to our parlay.
