The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to the Apex Centre in Las Vegas for another eventful night of mixed martial arts. Let's waste no time because the fight odds are now available for us to delve into some parlay betting picks for UFC in Vegas 38 - headlined by light heavyweight contenders Thiago Santos and Johnny Walker, competing live on ESPN this weekend.

Joe Solecki vs. Jared Gordan

UFC Lightweight Bout

Saturday, October 2, 2021 - 10:30 PM ET at the Apex Centre

The Fighters

The UFC's lightweight division will finalise this weekend's preliminary card with the undefeated UFC record of Joe Solecki up for grabs against Jared Gordon.

Joe Solecki (11-2-0) owns a perfect 3-0 record since joining the UFC roster in 2019 from Dana White's Contender Series, posing a dangerous ground game that's earned him seven career finishes by way of submission.

Jared Gordon (17-4-0) has a 5-3 UFC record but has notably faced the higher level of competition; with that said, very questionable durability has seen him rocked/wobbled in many of his professional contests – including three knockout losses in the UFC.

UFC Parlay Pick

I'll be the first to admit, I was heavily invested in Joe Solecki when he fought Jim Miller, and his first-round efforts made me anxious. Before Miller, nobody had made Solecki look so amateur during that first round, but I don't anticipate Jared Gordon possessing the same grappling strengths as Solecki's previous opponent.

With many critics believing Solecki will own a grappling advantage, I wouldn't be surprised if he finished Gordon on the feet. As previously mentioned, Gordon's chin has looked suspect on countless occasions; fighters with these red flags in the durability department rarely give me faith in their abilities to succeed long-term in the UFC.

The available UFC odds with Sportsbook Review are providing some significant value. Gordon opened as a huge underdog, and the money is coming in – giving us a great price on Solecki.

Alexander Hernandez vs. Mike Breeden

UFC Welterweight Bout

Saturday, October 2, 2021 - 9:00 PM ET at the Apex Centre

The Fighters

Alexander Hernandez (12-4-0) was fortunate to receive a late notice replacement for this weekends Vegas card when Leonardo Santos withdrew from the scheduled contest. Even more fortunate for Hernandez, he'll be facing a level of competition that's a significant drop in comparison to his UFC career contests thus far.

Mike Breeden (10-3-0) is making his UFC debut after failing to succeed on Dana Whites Contender Series previously in his career. Stemming from the Fighting Alliance Championship, Breeden is yet to test his skill set against the elite competitors of MMA.

UFC Fight Prediction

Breeden's previous professional bout versus a fighter named Nick Compton was a successful decision win. Still, I noticed multiple red flags that are a cause for concern for anybody willing to bet the underdog this weekend.

The footwork, speed, and diverse striking skillset of Hernandez combined with his knockout ability and UFC experience should be more than enough for FactoryX Muay Thai's main stayer to find himself back in the win column. Hernandez doesn't wait around and gets to work quick. While Breeden has shown a lot of patience during his most recent bouts, this won't bode well when missiles are coming his way from the opening bell.

I anticipate Hernandez finding the TKO or knockout, but to push our parlay into plus money we can sit back on the moneyline.
