There Is So Much Good Action On UFC Sacramento

California is in for a TREAT! UFC Sacramento is a card loaded with fan friendly fighters and shows off excellent match making from top to bottom. The card is headlined by a women’s #1 contender fight and the co-main event features The California Kid making his return. The undercard is full of fighters who are still looking to make names for themselves and that’s where we will find lots of action and great places to get out money down.

The card hit its first bump in the road when the very first fight of the night had Benito Lopez without an opponent. Thankfully Vince Morales stepped up to fill the open slot and boy did the bookmakers mess this one up. Morales opened as a +165 underdog in this spot and I was lucky enough to grab him at this line. He has since bet bet all the way down to -145 and even though you may not be getting the best of the number I do think he comes away the winner here. Lopez is untested and has a great offensive output but he is very hittable. He welcomes scrambles and that will play straight into the game of Vince Morales. Morales keeps a great steady pace and has solid counter punches. Morales came off the Contender Series and his opponent was saved by the bell in round 1 and unfortunately made a mistake in round 2 that cost him the fight. The real hole in Morales’ game is his wrestling and without a full camp to plan for that I don’t believe Lopez will be able to exploit it.

Benito Lopez is young and fighting out of Team Alpha Male so he has a good team around him, but he was training and preparing for a different opponent. Lopez is long and rangy, but he leaves his chin open and he is very hittable in scrambles. Morales has solid offensive wrestling and when his opponents look to scramble he is very good at securing position and lands bombs. I don’t think Benito is going to know what hit him. After falling short on the Contender Series Morales still found himself in the UFC and he has looked very good against his competition so far and even in his loss to Yadong Song (who we now know is a monster) he looked very competitive. I think Morales shows up in a big way here.
