Darren Elkins is looking to get back on track against regular contender Ricardo Lamas and we can make some money by rolling the dice with him.

Upsets, bad judging, and finishes! With that kind of a fun night we are excited to roll into next week and UFC Fight Night 140 and all the betting opportunities it brings with it.

The main event of UFC FN 140 is Santiago Ponzinibbio 26-3 vs Neil Magny 21-6 and both men are looking to place themselves on the verge of a title shot. Neil fell from grace in September of 2017 losing to Rafael Dos Anjos via first round submission. He has bounced back against Carlos Condit and Craig white impressively, however, Carlos was recently retired and hasn't looked like himself in his last several fights and Craig was a last minute local scene fill in. Take those wins with a small grain of salt. Santiago, on the other hand, is riding a 6 fight win streak with impressive wins of Mike Perry and Gunner Nelson. I personally think Neil is overrated and Santiago is the real deal. I would look to lay the price with Ponz, but as of now he's around -315 at Pinnacle and that's just too long. At this line there might be some value with Niel to grind out a win, but I'm not going there myself.

In the co-main event Darren Elkins 24-6 returns against Ricardo Lamas 18-7. Ricardo Lamas has been around the top of the division since 2013 when he faced Jose Aldo and has only lost to the best until just recently. Ricardo is on a 2 fight losing streak, the first of his career, including a devastating KO loss to Josh Emmett. The years of battle might be adding up and taking their toll on Ricardo.

Speaking of "Damage", Darren is one of those rare fighters who will get bloodied and beaten in every fight but just doesn't seem to go away. The best example of this was his battle with Mirsad Bektic where he was a massive underdog and was beaten to a pulp before pulling one of the greatest come backs in UFC history at 3:19 of the 3rd round to win by KO.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "<iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https://www.youtube.com/embed/_l5W_TsuKPc\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen></iframe>"}[/]

When looking for an underdog you always want to have a guy who will never give up and go out on their shield if that's what it takes. Darren is the perfect example of that. Even though he has taken a massive amount of damage in his career, no pun intended, he doesn't appear to have chin issues like you would expect. Yet.

Darren just dropped a 3 round decision to Alexander Volkov in July of 2018, but prior to that he was on a 6 fight win streak and I think he is still highly underrated. Ricardo is one of the best, but I think he is fading where Darren is on the rise. Both are looking to bounce back and I can count on Darren to never wilt and never give up. Lets roll with another dog.

Another interesting fight to keep an eye on is Khalil Roundtree vs Johnny Walker. Khalil is coming off an impressive TKO win over legend Gohkan Saki and has never looked so good. He is attempting to cement himself as a legit contender at light heavyweight and will face 14-3 Jonny Walker who will be making his UFC debut after winning on Dana White's Tuesday Night Contenders.

-260 seems appropriate with how Khalil has been looking, but I am not such a fan of laying that much in a fist fight. I would keep a close eye on this fight and see what the Inside The Distance prop will be for Khalil. Roundtree has been improving his striking drastically and appears to be putting it all together with his already impressive grappling game. Johnny Walker already has 2 TKO losses on his record and 11 of his 14 wins are by KO or TKO meaning he is going to look to strike. I can see the more polished vet clipping the new kid on the block making his debut disappointing.
