We absolutely CRUSHED UFC Uruguay and could not have called our fights better. After Volkan and Latifi finally got into the cage together Volkan showed he was the more improved fighter with far more skills at his disposal and put Latifi away in round 2. Rodolfo “The Black Belt Hunter’ submitted yet another black belt and had a successful UFC debt cashing another unit for us. There’s no time to rest though because UFC 241 is next weekend and this card is STACKED and has so many betting opportunities.
UFC 241 is headlined by a rematch between Stipe and Daniel Cormier for the Heavyweight strap! DC took the belt from Stipe just over a year ago by thunderous fight round KO and Stipe hasn’t shut up about it since. DC dispatched Derrick Lewis on short notice with an injured back since their last match while Stipe has been content to sit on the sidelines waiting for his rematch while the division shuffles itself. With a lack of current contenders and the Brock Lesnar fight falling through Stipe being the heavyweight champion with the most title defenses in UFC history with 3 seems to be the only choice for a fight. DC was supposed to retire by his 40th birthday, but with the Champ Champ title and fights on the horizon like Stipe, Brock, and round 3 with Jon Jones he seems to have extended his career. Even though DC is 40 now he doesn’t show any signs of slowing down.
DC is a bad matchup for Stipe and I dont see how this fight plays out differently. DC carries serious knock out power with him at heavyweight that he lacked at 205. He is faster than most of his opponents at heavyweight which allows him to close the distance and land some bombs. He also has a wrestling advantage over every single heavyweight in the division. Stipe is a wrestler himself but never on the level of DC and while Stipe has KO power and impressive striking DC made quick work of him in their first fight. I am not underestimating Stipe and I know in the last year he will have sharpened his game and made adjustments but DC is the GOAT and he’s the best fighter on the planet not named Jon Jones ad I really believe that he will retain his belt and roll on to a trilogy fight with Bones.
