UFC 211 is set for Saturday, May 13th in Dallas, Texas where the women’s strawweight and men’s heavyweight titles will be on the line. Let’s review the UFC odds and get busy cashing.

Junior dos Santos vs. Stipe Miocic

The odds on this one initially installed the champion as a -161 favorite but the odds have fallen as the money has been pouring in on an undervalued Junior dos Santos. As of this writing, approximately three weeks before fight night, Miocic is now anywhere from a -120 to -134 favorite depending on where you shop. The challenger took a unanimous decision in their first match back in December of 2014 and we believe he is primed to do so again. The big difference between these two power punchers is accuracy with Miocic landing 50 percent of his strikes while dos Santos lands at a 62 percent clip. We’ll include dos Santos as one of our UFC picks on fight night.

Jessica Andrade vs Joanna Jedrzejczyk

The women’s strawweight champ has been invincible since her entrance into the big leagues of MMA and now she will meet a challenger in Jessica Andrade who may test her mettle on the mat. Both women own a striking accuracy rate of about 50 percent but it is Andrade who has a distinct advantage with takedowns and mat mastery. Two of Andrade’s four defeats have come via submissions and I don’t believe the champ has the chops to put her to sleep…on the mat at least. Let’s grab the underdog here with Andrade.

Jorge Masvidal vs Demian Maia

Jorge Masvidal may have more losses on his record than most legitimate title contenders but his second-round knockout of Donald Cerrone in his last fight made me a believer. His opponent, Demian Maia, is immaculate when the fight falls to the ground but whether he can get it there is another story. Masvidal has been submitted just twice in his career and the way he has been starching opponents recently, I don’t see Maia getting close enough to make it number three. The BJJ master Maia is getting long in the tooth at age 39 and though he is three inches taller than Masvidal, his reach is actually two inches shorter. I see Masvidal winning this one.

Yair Rodriguez vs Frankie Edgar

I am a big Frankie Edgar fan but the former lightweight champ is in a no man’s land of being a click below championship timber in both the featherweight and lightweight divisions. He will be taking on a much younger and more athletic Yair Rodriguez who employs an arsenal of weapons inside the Octagon. Although I respect Edgar’s mat prowess, I don’t believe he can overcome the rising young gun he will be taking on at UFC 211.
