“What is whispered in the ear of a man is often heard 100 miles away,” and that definitely applies to the Spanish league, La Liga. Thanks to your Humble Handicapper’s review of the soccer gossip you’ll be able to separate the wheat from the chaff.

The Spanish season ended with a bang at the weekend when Atletico Madrid fought back from a goal down, and secured the draw they needed against Barcelona to win the Spanish title. Barcelona had needed to take the three points to pinch La Liga at Atletico's expense but it was Diego Simeone's side smiling by the final whistle. The bookies haven’t published their odds for next season’s La Liga yet, but when they do, the SBR forum will have them all.

Enough with the end of this season…WHERE’S THE GOSSIP MIKE?
The runners up (Barcelona) seem to be willing to allow Arsenal and Manchester United a sniff of Cesc Fabregas should they receive an offer in the region of £45 million. The 27 year old is rumoured to be considering his options at Barca, though the departure of gaffer Gerardo Martino may lead to Fabregas being more open to remaining at the club Fabregas has suffered a fair bit of grief from his own supporters this season and is regarded as something of a scapegoat for this trophy-less Barcelona season and Man United’s chief executive is expected to table an offer of £40million. Also Arsenal and Manchester City are poised to swoop after Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta allegedly hinted that he is ready to leave the La Liga giants.

Barcelona are a side with real quality and history and your Humble Handicapper knows they will be back with a vengeance after a disappointing season.

Elsewhere in the UK Arsenal are rumoured to have up their sleeves a £40m Bid for Real Madrid’s French international Karim Benzema. My spies tell me that Madrid are looking to sign Liverpool’s Luis Suarez, and will therefore need to balance the books. This will lead to Benzema being made available. Benzema has had a brilliant season scoring 24 goals in all competitions, but Real Madrid president Florentino Perez plans a trident attack with Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo next to the Anfield star.

On the way in
Barca are after Roma’s Mehdi Benatia, who is also being courted by Manchester City. Barcelona are rumoured to be preparing a bid of £28.5m for the defender. The Catalan daily newspaper "Sport" claims that Barcelona are also set to launch a bid for Juventus striker Fernando Llorente, making him their number one target in the summer transfer window.

Once the best soccer odds hit the SBR forum you’re Humble Handicapper will be back to tell you where the best value lies so that you can prepare your soccer picks.
