Two teams who love to share goals face each other in the Premier league on Sunday afternoon. Lee Phelps has been looking at the soccer odds for Tottenham & manchester City for his free pick.

You could be forgiven for thinking that the Lilywhites and Sky Blues seasons are over with Manchester City’s title dreams officially over and Tottenham resigned to Europa League football whatever they do.

Tottenham Hotspur
It’s looking like Spurs will have to play those dreaded Thursday Sunday matches again next season, with up to eight place qualifying for Europe’s second competition through fair play and the fact Chelsea and potentially Arsenal will win cups and already have Champions League football.

Mauricio Pochettino was fairly explicit about his lack of love for the competition: “The Europa League is not an easy competition, it’s a very tough competition because it affects your domestic league,” Pochettino said. “It was my opinion when I was at Southampton, when I was asked a lot about this and, having had a Europa League season, I can now confirm that it is very difficult to manage the Europa League with the Premier League and both cups. I think that you spend a lot of energy when you play in the Europa League and it’s not easy.”

“It’s true that the experience of last season with Liverpool and now with Manchester United – I think that is a clear example that you will have the opportunity to stay closer to the top four, if you only have to focus on the Premier League and the cups.”

Manchester City
My worries about City’s complacency in the 2-0 win versus West Ham were well founded having seen them struggle to get past Aston Villa. In fact at 2-2 Christian Benteke should have had a penalty, with Joe Hart red-carded, but history shows they won 3-2.

My pledge to refrain from backing Manuel Pellegrini’s men at odds-on is holding firm, with Sergio Aguero taking all my money until the end of the season. We have been paid out on the Argentinian scoring first in two successive weeks and he will be part of my bet here again.

Sergio Aguero has netted nine goals in six Premier League appearances against Spurs.

Edin Dzeko has scored six goals in six Premier League matches against Tottenham, though four of them came in one game, a 5-1 win at White Hart Lane.

City have a great record against Spurs too, winning seven and losing just one of the last eight league meetings. There have been at least four goals in each of the last three matches, with the Mancunians bagging 15 in that time.

Soccer picks
Looking at the soccer odds I’m expecting goals again in this fixture, with little to defend for and some quality attacking player on both sides. I’m sticking with Aguero and doubling him up with the best English striker in the Premier League, Harry Kane for my soccer pick on this match.

Free Soccer Pick: Aguero and Kane to both score at any time 6.0 (5/1) at Bet365
