Find out our three top tennis picks for Day 6 of the US Open, where the last matches of the third round will take place.

Guillermo Garcia-Lopez vs. Tomas Berdych
Tomas Berdych won the two matches he played in straight sets against Bjorn Fratangelo and Jurgen Melzer, however his level has been far from his best with too many errors. After a great start of season Berdych's level has been decreasing and struggles to maintain the intensity during his matches.

Guillermo Garcia-Lopez is having a great season with two titles already but in last months has struggled with some physical problems. After four straight losses the Spanish has returned to victories this week defeating Janko Tipsarevic and Nicolas Mahut. After a first tough match against Janko he raised his level to defeat Mahut Firing 56 winners and 27 unforced errors.

Garcia-Lopez is a very good competitor and already showed he can put a very good fight against top players, he leads the h2h with Berdych 3-2 and this season won sets in two matches against Wawrinka. Guillermo with his solid baseline tennis and good groundstrokes should be a tough opponent and win at least one set on this meeting.

Tennis Pick: Guillermo Garcia-Lopez +2.5 Set Handicap at -10 at 5Dimes

Angelique Kerber vs Victoria Azarenka

After a very solid first match Victoria Azarenka had to fight harder to defeat Yanina Wickmayer on second round. Yanina was playing very good tennis, just going for every shot and it was creating a lot of problems but Azarenka raised her level in the end of first set to turn the match to her side.

Angelique Kerber is one of the toughest competitors to face with huge defensive and counter punching skills. Azarenka said before the match that facing Kerber is like facing a wall and she knows that needs to be solid but at same time aggressive to create problems for the German.

Kerber is a good match-up for Azarenka with Vika leading the h2h 4-0, the last match was played this year in Doha where Azarenka won easily 6-0, 6-3. The match is completely in Azarenka’s racket and she knows that but needs to keep a high level of intensity to defeat such a great competitor and good defender like Kerber.

Tennis Pick: Victoria Azarenka -3.5 at -103

Dominic Thiem vs Kevin Anderson
Dominic Thiem was one of our tennis picks to keep an eye on and made a pretty solid start defeating Daniel Gimeno-Traver and Denis Istomin without losing a single set. Dominic has been serving very well and his game level is getting closer from the one that allowed him to win two clay tournaments recently.

Kevin Anderson won Winston-Salem title before this event and keeps his winning streak, however had many problems in first round against Andrey Rublev winning 7-6, 6-7, 7-5, 6-3. Kevin has a very big serve with a lot of kick and that’s clearly his biggest weapon but from the baseline he has also improved in last years with solid and powerful groundstrokes.

Kevin has always been a tough match-up for Thiem and is the favorite for this event priced at -233 according to tennis odds analysis. Anderson won the two previous meetings (both in 2014) in straight sets, but Dominc is currently a higher level player and can cause problems to the South-African. Anderson’s biggest weapon against Thiem is his kick serve that causes many problems to one-handed backhand players like the Austrian, however from the baseline Thiem is the better player and should be able to put a big fight here.

Both players should be able to hold their serves and they should play at least one or even two tie breaks. Also Dominic has now tennis to steal at least one set to Anderson so we’ll take the Over line considering a match with 1 or 2 tie breaks solved in four sets but the possibility of a fifth set is also very high and this contest might turn into a marathon.

Tennis Pick: Over 41 at -111
