This week sees the final round of Champions League group games as Europe’s best teams bid to reach the last 16 of the famous competition. Some heavyweights have already ensured qualification and will not bother sending out their best players for their final games. Others are already dead and buried and have no hope of qualification, so they too are unlikely to take it seriously.

Benfica v Basel

Benfica are one of those teams that have crashed and burned. They are bottom of the group, on zero points, having lost all five games so far. They cannot even hope to finish third and thus get into the Europa League, so they have absolutely nothing to play for. Basel, meanwhile, are joint second in the group on nine points with CSKA Moscow. They will be desperate for a win as they bid to reach the last 16 and odds of +151 at Pinnacle on an away win look amazing in this game. Basel secured a 5-0 home win against Benfica earlier in the competition and should win this one.

Man Utd v CSKA Moscow

Man Utd have already qualified for the last 16 and know that a draw in this game would still see them top the group. They could even lose and top the group, so they are unlikely to apply too much intensity in this game. They will be tired from Saturday’s exertions against Arsenal, a game they won 3-1 but one in which they enjoyed just 24% of possession and had to defend desperately throughout. CSKA Moscow are not a great team on the road, but they could exploit Man Utd’s fatigue and lack of motivation and get a result in this game. CSKA Moscow +1 looks a good option at +115 with Bovada.

Olympiakos v Juventus

Juventus need a win in this game to ensure they finish ahead of Sporting Lisbon and qualify from the group. They should be able to achieve that against Olympiakos, who are bottom of the group and cannot qualify. The odds on Juventus are low, but Juventus to win to nil looks a great option at -120 with Ladbrokes. Juventus’ defence has really improved in recent weeks and kept three clean sheets in a row, including a 1-0 win against free-scoring Napoli at the weekend.

Maribor v Sevilla

This group is extremely tight, but a win for Sevilla will see them reach the last 16 and they should be able to achieve that against a poor Maribor side. Sevilla won 3-0 in the reverse fixture and Maribor have twice been annihilated by Liverpool in this competition, so their fans will not be expecting much from this game. Sevilla -2 looks a great bet at -102 with Pinnacle as they should start strong and rack up a heavy scoreline.

Celtic v Anderlecht

It has been a dismal Champions League campaign for the Scottish champions, who were thrashed home and away by a rampant PSG. They also lost heavily to Bayern Munich in both games, and the one bright spot has been their victory over Anderlect in Belgium. They have a great opportunity to restore more pride by beating Anderlecht again and ensuring they progress to the Europa League in this game. Brendan Rodgers’ men are -112 with Pinnacle to win this game and that looks like a really good bet as they are the better team and have more than enough quality to see off Anderlecht.
