WTA Hong Kong
The Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open takes place in Hong Kong and will be played on Hard Court

Main Contenders
Angelique Kerber hasn’t been able to reach any final on this Asian swing, losing one time in semifinals and twice in quarterfinals. This week she has a great draw and excellent chances to reach the decisive match in Hong Kong.

Kerber is the 2nd seed and highest ranked player in bottom half of the draw where there isn’t a real threat to the German. The two toughest players that she might face are Caroline Garcia and Samantha Stosur. Both are extremely offensive players with dangerous forehands and in the past were able to create problems to Kerber on clay. On Hard Court Angelique’s solid baseline game and counter punching skills are much more effective and it will be very hard for any of the two to beat her.

The German is priced at 4.00 on bet365 for the title and we’ll add her to our tennis picks.

After the title in Wuhan, Venus Williams got herself closer from a place in Singapore however the early loss in Beijing might have ruined her chances. Garbine Muguruza withdrew from this event and Venus replaced her in 1st seed position.

The American can produce some great tennis like she did in Wuhan but can’t keep that level for long due to her health problems. Venus has on her side tough opponents such as Alize Cornet, Jelena Jankovic or Daria Garvilova. Despite being able to play great tennis, just can’t trust Williams to keep the level and there is no value on her tennis odds at 4.00 on bet365.

Player to keep an eye on
The former World no. 1, Jelena Jankovic, has a pretty good draw to go deep on this event. After winning Guangzhou title, the Serbian suffered two early losses in Wuhan and Beijing against Kerber and Dominika Cibulkova, respectively.

Jankovic should have two very easy first matches before a possible clash with Daria Gavrilova in quarterfinals. The Russian is a great competitor and did couple of good runs this year but her results lately have been extremely poor, with just 1 win in previous 7 matches.

On semifinals the Serbian might face Venus for a place in the final. They haven’t faced since 2012 but the previous matches were all very close with 6 – 6 on h2h. Jankovic is priced at 7.00 on bet365 for the title and it seems to be a solid investment for a trade in last stages of the competition.
