Find out which are the best plays based on the tennis odds for the WTA US Open Day 10, where four players will fight for a place in the semifinals.

Victoria Azarenka vs. Simona Halep
Victoria Azarenka is looking to keep her dream alive of winning US Open for the first time after losing twice the final to Serena in 2012 and 2013. Azarenka has a huge confidence in herself and no matter who is on the other side of the net (not even if is Serena) she always believes that she can wins. Victoria had a huge battle against Angelique Kerber in 3rd round which was very important for her confidence being able to win such a tough contest and where she showed all her determination and fighting skills.

Simona Halep on the other hand is far from having a champion mentality, the Romanian already said she was very happy for reaching the second week of this tournament and she has nothing to lose against Azarenka when she’s the highest ranked player and should clearly show more determination to go further. Simona has also struggled with physical problems, in her last match against Sabine Lisicki was clearly in difficulties on her movement with her left leg heavily strapped after a medical timeout and she has to thank Lisicki for the huge amount of unforced errors that she fired.

Azarenka won the two meetings they played in 2012 when Simona was still improving her tennis but the Belarussian should be able to extend her winning streak over Halep. The World No. 2 is clearly struggling physically and Azarenka with her high intensity, strong pace and consistent tennis will force Halep to play long rallies exploring those physical limitations. In normal circumstances there wouldn’t be value on this bet but due to Halep’s problems there is some and we’ll take it for one of our tennis picks.

Tennis Pick: Victoria Azarenka -4.0 at 2.09 at 5Dimes

Petra Kvitova vs. Flavia Pennetta
Despite struggling with mononucleosis, Petra Kvitova is on an 8 games winning streak and for the first time reaches US Open quarter-finals. The Czech is always a super dangerous player with her massive left-handed serve and her powerful groundstrokes. Petra hasn’t lost a set so far and was only broken one time in the four matches she played in Flushing Meadows.

Flavia Pennetta reached at least quarter-finals in 6 of last 7 appearances in US Open, she really enjoys the conditions on this event and manages to play her best tennis. Flavia defeated in previous round the 2011 champion Samantha Stosur not being broken a single time on that match and ending with solid numbers of 18 winners / 13 unforced errors.

Petra is the big favorite for this event at 1.33 and she won the last three meetings, however this won’t be an easy match for Kvitova against such an experienced and competitive player as Pennetta. The Italian has been serving well and will use her groundstrokes to open the court not allowing Kvitova to be in comfortable positions to hit her powerful groundstrokes. We’ll take the Over instead of Game Handicap on Flavia because there is a strong possibility of tie break in first set due the high quality of their serves and if Flavia takes that one she might decrease the level in next set losing by big margin that would affect that bet while the Over would already be won. The Set Handicap isn’t also the best bet because Flavia can lose in two close sets so the bet that protects more scenarios is the Over because we don’t believe that Pennetta can win in two easy sets.
