First Quarter: Djokovic Favored
Top Seeds:[1] Djokovic and [8] Rafael Nadal
Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal are slated to collide in the quarterfinals if all goes to plan in this section, which should set up a scintillating showdown that tennis enthusiasts are sure to appreciate. Fittingly, the pair are matched as the top favorites to clinch the quarter –albeit with Djokovic miles ahead as the -333 favorite and Nadal the distant second favorite at +400.

Djokovic’s immediate path to the quarters looks straightforward enough in the first few rounds and, even, the later rounds en route to the quarterfinals. Players such as Andreas Seppi, Jerzy Janowicz and David Goffin are strewn in various spots through to the R16. While they could give him a run for his money and make a match of it, beating Djokovic is another matter entirely.

Nadal’s section is strewn with bigger obstacles, making his path to the quarterfinals a veritable minefield. He opens against a bright prospect Borna Coric, who has beaten him before. If he survives the opening round scare, he could come up against Fabio Fognini, Feliciano Lopez (+5000), Fernando Verdasco or Milos Raonic (+1200 to win quarter), to name a few.

Tennis Picks: Djokovic -333
Outside Tennis Picks: Nadal +400 or Raonic +1200

Second Quarter: Nishikori Favored
Top Seeds: [4] Nishikori and [7] Ferrer
Last season’s runner-up Kei Nishikori emerges as the favorite in the second quarter at +163 to win outright. He’s favored above defending champion Marin Cilic (+400), the player he lost to in the final. That’s largely down to Cilic’s lack of form this season after suffering an injury late last year.

Nishikori’s path to the quarterfinals is quite favorable, but by no means easy. He has a tough opener against Benoit Paire, a potential second round clash against veteran Radek Stepanek and a third round clash against Sam Groth, Alexandr Dolgopolov or Tommy Robredo, to name a few. The fourth round could get trickier with a pair of Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Gael Monfils looming as the likeliest challenges.

In the bottom half of this section, David Ferrer strikes an unassuming pose as the +1400 long shot to win the section. However, considering what a dogged competitor Ferrer is, his section looks negotiable. His toughest obstacle to the quarterfinal comes in the form of either Dimtrov or Cilic (both priced at +400 to win the quarter), but neither is sporting sensational form ahead of the 2015 US Open. Dimtrov’s form in fact was so disappointing this term that he parted ways with his coach. Other tough obstacles come in the form of Jeremy Chardy and Martin Klizan, to name a few. Still, in the best of five, Ferrer is usually a winning horse to back on your tennis picks.

Tennis Picks: Nishikori -400
Outside Tennis Picks: Ferrer +1400 or Tsonga +650

Third Quarter: Murray Favored
Top Seeds: [3] Murray and [5] Wawrinka
Andy Murray falls into the toughest section of the tournament with Stanislas Wawrinka flanking the opposite end of the quarter. The pair are the top tennis picks to win this section, naturally. Murray, however, edges Wawrinka as the -150 favorite while the Swiss is matched at +225 tennis odds. In our opinion, the pair has an equal shot to win this section.

Neither will have a straightforward path to the quarterfinals though. Murray faces a tough Nick Kyrgios in round 1 of the 2015 US Open while Wawrinka could come up against big-serving Gilles Muller or home fave Jack Sock in the third round.

If Murray survives the early scare against Kyrgios (+2200 to win the quarter), he could come up against dangerous floater Adrian Mannarino (+8000), in-from Kevin Anderson (+2200) or rising star Dominic Thiem (+3300)

Wawrinka, on the other hand, might have to negotiate a path to the quarterfinals at the expense of several threats such as American Ryan Harrison, dogged Frenchman Gilles Simon (+3300) and Latvian hothead Ernest Gulbis (+2800).

Tennis Picks: Murray -150 or Wawrinka +225
Outside Tennis Picks: Kyrgios +2200, Anderson +2200 or Giles Simon +3300

<var>Must Check: WTA US Open Draw & Quarter Predictions</var>

Fourth Quarter: Federer Favoured
Top Seeds: [2] Federer and [6] Berdych
Roger Federer is after a gauntlet throwing win over Djokovic in the Cincinnati final, beating the Serbian starlet in straight sets. Not unlike last year, mind. The win over Djokovic sets up Federer as one of Djokovic’s biggest threats to the title. Of course, before Federer can reach the final and potentially give Djokovic a run for his money, he’ll need to negotiate a tricky section, one that he’s favored to win at -200 tennis odds.

Tomas Berdych (+450) flanks the opposite end and could set up a quarterfinal showdown with the maestro if all goes to plan. The section is riddled with obstacles, including Richard Gasquet (+1400), American John Isner (+1200) and Aussie Bernard Tomic (+2500), amongst several others.

Federer opens his tournament against Leonardo Mayer, a tricky Argentinean. If he survives the first round, he could come up against fan favorite Marcus Baghdatis. In the third round, he could face a pair of tricky opponents such as Lukas Rosol or Philipp Kohlschreiber (+3300). In the R16, a couple of big-servers are the likeliest to emerge: John Isner or Ivo Karlovic (+3300).

Berdych, meanwhile, has a slightly less treacherous path to the quarterfinals with some winnable early potential matchups against players such as Jurgen Melzer, Sam Querrey and Janko Tipsarevic. Not that they couldn’t trouble him, but he has the form and ranking to overcome any challenge from either of these players. The R16 could get trickier with Richard Gasquet, Bernard Tomic or Lleyton Hewitt emerging, amongst several others.

Tennis Picks: Federer -200
Outside Tennis Picks: Berdych +450 or Isner +1200 or Gasquet +1200
