Our main favorite for the title will be in action this Friday. Find out who is that player is and what is the highest value tennis pick that you should add to your betting list.

Jeremy Chardy (6) vs Richard Gasquet (2)
Richard Gasquet is playing in Stockholm for the first time and started his campaign with an easy match against Steve Darcis. The French was leading 6 – 1 2 – 0 when the Belgian retired due to a left foot injury.

Richard was our pick to win the tournament and the 2nd seed has a great opportunity to claim his third season title. The last time Gasquet lost a match in this game conditions with a player outside top 30, was in Basel 2013 against Michael Llodra but Gasquet was clearly not motivated for that match after Moscow title and with Paris and London around the corner.

Jeremy Chardy is far from a solid Indoor Hard Court player, these game conditions don’t give him enough time to do the runaround in order to hit his forehand. Jeremy’s backhand is extremely unreliable and that was clear in his previous match against a left-handed, Federico Delbonis.

Despite reaching quarterfinals, Chardy’s level has been quite low during the week. In first round defeated Thanasi Kokkinakis 7 – 5 4 – 6 7 – 5 after committing 13 double faults. The serve is one of his two biggest weapons (the other is the forehand), but this week is only averaging 0.43 aces / 0.61 double faults per service game.

This will be the third meeting between the two French with Gasquet leading 2 – 0 without losing a single set in the previous matches. If this was played on clay there would be some more chances for Chardy, however on Indoor there isn’t much he can do.

Gasquet’s backhand will be the key on this match in two specific situations: 1) crossed backhand when Richard is controlling the rally to explore Chardy’s weak backhand; 2) backhand down the line when Jeremy hits inside out forehand, giving too much space on his right side.

We’ll add to our tennis picks for this match the value on Gasquet spread tennis odds.
