Leicester City are riding high atop the Premier League table. Can they hold on to their position throughout December? Find out as we preview match day 17 and review all the soccer odds.

Match Day 16 Recap
What a weekend in the Premier League it was with Leicester City rounding out match day 16 by underscoring their top-flight credentials in a gauntlet throwing win over Chelsea at King Power Stadium.

It was a charged atmosphere as the Foxes took to the field. Although they were matched at considerably long +220 soccer underdogs, they played like the league leaders they were and felled the defending league champions in a 2-1 victory. The upshot of which came a few days later in the unceremonious sacking of Jose Mourinho.

It was bound to happen following this latest setback in a fast becoming gruesome season for the Blues’  and one of the worst in the history of the decorated manager’s career. So fickle is sport that patience runs thin even with great managers. When you’re on top, the world is your oyster. When you’re on the bottom, it’s time for change.

Chelsea are sat 16th in the table and just one-point above the relegation line. Chelsea are still long shots to be relegated at +6600 soccer odds, compared to their counterparts in the bottom-half of the table such as Newcastle United (+175), Bournemouth and Swansea (both at +300), Norwich (+130), Sunderland (-400), and Aston  Villa (-1000). Which coach will be tasked with the rescue effort is yet unknown – Gus Hiddink leads the race for the new Chelsea manager at various sportsbook outlets – but the prognosis is still favourable with more than half of the season still left to be played. That’s some consolation for Blues fans and their top-flight prospects.

Elsewhere in the league on match day 16, Arsenal continued their winning form with a straightforward 2-0 win over Aston Villa and Manchester City bounced back with a 2-1 win over Swansea City. Manchester United, however, were victims of AFC Bournemouth – and possibly a let-down spot after failing to ensure their passage into the Champions League knockouts. They lost 2-1 on the road to slip to fourth place in the table.

Here we look at match day 17 soccer odds for each and every matchup (Table 1) and serve up choice soccer picks for the games we’re spotting.

Table 1:Premier League Week 17 Soccer Odds According to Bet365

Everton vs. Leicester City
The Toffees host the Foxes on Saturday’s round of England’s top-flight conspicuously trading as the underdogs of +260 soccer odds. When are odds makers going to give the Foxes the respect that is their due? They’re atop the league not just by luck or chance. They’ve earned it, even at the great expense of some household names such as Chelsea. It’s frankly scandalous that Leicester City continues to be snubbed so on the Premier League odds board.

Granted Everton are no slouches and home advantage gives them a slight edge, but they’re not impervious to defeat at home. They are 3-3-2 at Goodison Park, which includes scoring 17 goals and conceding 12. On the season, they are 5-8-3 and sat tenth in the table with 23 points. Most recently, they are enjoying an eight-game undefeated run comprised of four wins and four draws across several competitions. In Premier League action, they are undefeated in their last three home games with two wins and a draw. However, both those wins have come against considerably lesser opposition – Sunderland and Aston Villa. Their last home fixture ended in a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.

That few are giving credit where it’s due must rankle with the Foxes. That’s sure to motivate them in this game to yet again defy the soccer odds. They have momentum and form behind a nine-game undefeated streak which includes draws against Southampton and Manchester United and wins over Crystal Palace, Swansea City and Chelsea, to name a few. It’s just too tempting not to tickle their soccer odds for the outright win at +260 at bet365. For those uncertain soccer bettors believing this could be a game when the Foxes stub their toes – a let-down of sorts after defeating the defending champions Chelsea – hedging your soccer bets on a win or draw at -120 could be a better option for your soccer picks.

West Brom vs. AFC Bournemouth
The Championship champions AFC Bournemouth put in an inspired effort over Manchester United last weekend. Some would have it they capitalised on a let-down spot by the Red Devils following disappointment in their European campaign. So the obvious question is whether they can back up the win and prove it was more than just a lucky chance to come up against Man U mired in doldrums. That they deserved the win and earned it more on their merit than anything else.

A clash with West Brom doesn’t look to be a monumental task at first glance. The Magpies are sat 13th in the table behind a 5-5-6 mark and 20 points. At home, they are just 2-2-4 on the season.

Most recently, however, they are riding an undefeated run of four straight in Premier League action, with hard fought draws against Liverpool, Tottenham and West Ham, as well as a shocking 2-1 win over Arsenal. That run of form lends itself to their rather favourable soccer odds of +138 on the soccer odds board for a West Brom win.

Granted, all those sides are considerable heavyweights in the league and often it’s not unusual for teams to rise to the occasion. But Tony Pulis is a respected coach and he should have his Magpies ready for this game and not underestimating promoted Bournemouth.

By all accounts, this game could go either way. We’re leaning towards the draw bet here at +225 soccer odds or a combination of a draw/win by Bournemouth as an upset soccer pick.

Watford vs. Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp’s start in the Premier League is gaining mixed reviews. Last week, he caused a stir for refusing to shake Tony Pulis’ hand in a charged 2-2 draw with the Magpies. In any event, the Dortmund castoff is looking ahead to a date with Watford on Sunday, a side that is punching above its weight class. They are seventh in the table with a 7-4-5 mark and 25 points. A point ahead of Liverpool in the table.

Recent form is auspicious enough with three straight wins ahead of match day 17. Those have all come against bottom feeders – Aston Villa, Norwich and Sunderland. Liverpool present a much tougher matchup for Watford as evinced by the soccer odds. Watford are considerable home underdogs on the Premier League odds board at +275 while Liverpool are matched at +100 soccer odds. The Reds have gone 2-1-2 over the last five games; most notably, they beat Man City 4-1 away. One has to consider they can overcome Watford if they can beat Man City.
