Will it be the Eagles or Black Cats that get the nod with our soccer picks this coming weekend? Another busy Saturday of Premier League action awaits.

Odds Overview
There's really nothing separating these two outfits when it comes to the soccer odds, as both are available for backing at right around +180 or so, with a draw quoted at right around +215. At some sportsbooks, however, Sunderland is slightly favored at approximately +170, with Palace then at +190.

Right now the UNDER 2.5 goals is getting hammered, so we shouldn't be expecting a ton of goals here this weekend. Both teams may opt to use conservative tactics in hopes of at least getting a point.

As of now, the Black Cats occupy the 15th spot in the Premier League standings, and while they're not in the relegation zone right now, they're not exactly in a completely safe place overall. Indeed, Sunderland is just three points clear of the bottom three heading into the weekend, so getting at least a point against Palace will be crucial.

Recent form isn't really in this team's favor, however. The Black Cats have won just one of their past nine matches overall, though that victory did come in their latest taste of action in a 1-0 triumph over Newcastle at home. Jermain Defoe was the hero in that one, scoring a wonder goal that would spur Sunderland on to a huge three points.

The Black Cats will remain at home for Saturday's clash, but their form at the Stadium of Light has to be a concern to some. They've managed just two wins over their past seven matches at home, and that's a trend they'll try to break against the in-form Eagles. Having Defoe back in the mix to lead the attack has been a nice boost, and another goal (or two) from him could go a long way this weekend.

Crystal Palace
All of a sudden, the Eagles have risen into the 11th spot in the Premier League standings. It's been an incredible run for this team, as it wasn't that long ago that they were near the relegation drop themselves. Palace comes in having won three straight matches, with the latest acting as the cherry on top: a 2-1 victory over none other than Manchester City.

Few had given the Eagles much of a chance at all against the "mighty" Citizens, but they got the job done to the delight of the home fans. Glenn Murray and Jason Puncheon scored the goals and Palace held on for one of their biggest victories of the entire campaign.

There's no doubt momentum is on their side right now, but with Sunderland desperate to get a positive result, it's not going to be a walk in the park whatsoever inside the Stadium of Light. In terms of Palace's away form, they've actually been downright incredible, having won six of their last seven matches away from home.

Premier League Pick
As much as we'd like to back the Eagles considering their recent run of form, playing at home at this juncture of the season, when every fixture is of the utmost importance, is a huge factor that we have to take into account.

Sunderland hasn't exactly been a world beater in its own stadium, but we expect the fans to be rowdy as ever on Saturday, and that should be a helping hand as the Black Cats try to tame the red-hot Eagles.

With our soccer picks, we have to agree with oddsmakers in that there isn't a clear-cut edge on either side. With that said, we think a small wager on the draw at just over +200 may be the way to go. Expect a back-and-forth, closely-contested affair throughout.
