Wow, my WNBA Picks have been horrific over the last week. A bad week can be disparaging, but it’s not over for yours truly. I’ve regrouped and am prepared to release two winning WNBA Picks for his large Sunday slate.

Jordan’s WNBA Picks 1-9

Los Angeles Sparks at Phoenix Mercury

Sunday, June 23, 2019 - 06:00 PM EDT

There is a little haze surrounding this game, because although she has been practicing with the team over the last several days, Diana Taurasi is still listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Sparks.

However, even if Taurasi doesn’t play, the Mercury have a pretty good shot at slowing down the Sparks. LA’s offense has been shut down lately, even as they get back Candace Parker. These struggles will likely be short-lived, but in this matinee game in Phoenix, I could see it continuing.

Over their last two games, the Sparks are only averaging 70.8 points per 100 possessions and now they face a Mercury team that plays at one of the slowest paces in the league.

If the Mercury can slow down LA’s pace enough, they might get their offense slowed down as well. The Phoenix defense hasn’t been good at all over the last three games, but neither has their offense. I could see both of those things changing this afternoon. If the Mercury are making more shots, it gives them a chance to set their defense. With the way LA has struggled on offense, the under looks like the best play for this afternoon showdown.

My Pick: Under

Recommended Sportsbook: 5Dimes

Indiana Fever at Seattle Storm

Sunday, June 23, 2019 - 07:00 PM EDT

I’ve been backing the Fever for most of the season. However, two days ago I did not and it burned me as Indiana came away with the win and cover against the Sky. Now they are on the road in Seattle against the Storm and the Fever are definitely undervalued in this early afternoon game in Seattle.

Indiana’s depth may be hurt a little with Natalie Achonwa still banged up and questionable with a calf injury, but rookie Teaira McCowan played very well against the Sky in her second career WNBA start and should remain a solid rim protector and defender against the bigs of Seattle.

The Storm’s Jewel Loyd may give the Fever some trouble, but Indiana’s backcourt has continuously been undervalued this season and the WNBA Odds-makers are still not giving them enough credit. Kelsey Mitchell is a blossoming star in this league, while Erica Wheeler is having a red-hot start to the season, shooting nearly 52 percent from downtown in her first 10 games.

Considering the Fever have the second-best offensive rating in the league, averaging 103 points per 100 possessions, I don’t think the Storm, missing two of their best players, will have enough to compete across four quarters.

Seattle did just dominate the Sparks at home, but LA is still trying to integrate a completely new roster. The Fever have largely been playing together for a while. I think they will be a much tougher cover for the Storm than the Sparks were. In fact, I’m picking the Fever here.

Granted, my picks have been fade-worthy all week. I’ll be the first to admit it. However, the Fever are the Sharp Pick here and the line is quickly falling.

My Pick: Fever ATS

Best Line Offered: Bookmaker
