Watford & Southampton face up on Sunday, following the Saints' Europa League draw. Who will come out on top here? Our capper has checked the odds and has a nice goals play for his free betting pick.

Two teams looking for their first three points go into this game with different confidence levels. Watford have won plaudits for their two draws, while whispers are going around about Southampton’s leaky defence, with just one point so far.

Watford
Two very different draws have seen Watford score twice against Everton, but fail to hit the back of the net at home to West Brom.

They had 16 shots and five on target against the Baggies and the performance was good, they just came up against a solid Premier League team and a canny manager in Tony Pulis.

Quique Flores has been adding to their squad this week bringing in former West Ham United player Alessandro Diamanti and Nathan Ake from Chelsea.

Watford will need one of their Championship goal scorers to find the net regularly in the top flight and Troy Deeney is probably the most likely.

Flores may be happy picking up a point, but their play suggests to me they will take the game to Southampton giving us an exciting game.

Southampton
The Saints pre-season once again saw them lose highly rated players in Clyne and Schneiderlin and it may be they find it harder to cope this time.

That rock solid defence has already let in five goals, including three at home (which is almost a quarter of last season’s total at St Mary’s). They only drew with minnows Midtjylland on Thursday in the Europa League and Manchester United are sniffing around Saido Mane too.

The Europa League hits teams hard. Just ask Everton last season, so it will be interesting to see how they cope with this Sunday game versus a rested and lively Hornets team.

Soccer Picks
Despite that blank at home to West Brom, I see Watford scoring here and with over 2.5 goals featuring in both Southampton’s matches so far, I expect them to be edgy in defence and ready to attack to compensate for it.

The price for the home win isn’t tempting, although it could happen, so it’s just a simple soccer pick for Watford vs Southampton with both teams to score priced at 1.91 (10/11).

Free soccer pick: Both teams to score 1.91 (10/11) at William Hill.

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2864518, "sportsbooksIds":[43], "LineTypeId":2, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
