Time to wrap up this week’s free horse racing picks. Today we are off to Woodbine north of the border and to the Left Coast at beautiful Del Mar. As always, Sunday is more sedate than Saturday in terms of large stakes races. However, that doesn’t mean it is completely silent. For example, Woodbine has a stakes race and a grand total of three races that have purses of $100,000 or more.

Having missed a week of racing, Del Mar is playing catchup and has two quality stakes races of their own today. We have studied the horse racing odds and we offer these free horse racing picks.

Woodbine Race: 7

Post Time: 4:23 EDT
Surface: All Weather   Distance: 1 1/16 Miles

Morning Line Favorite at BetOnline: #2 Mr Ritz (GB)

Backstretch News: This is the $125,000 Seagram Cup Stakes and Mr. Ritz (2/1 odds) offers several positives. Besides having the top speed and No. 2 jockey and trainer at Woodbine, he’s 2-2-1 (WPS) in five attempts at distance and is off of a phenomenal workout. Of better value is Tiz a Slam, who’s at 6/1 and is 3-2 in seven tries at this track. Skywire is 3-1 in as many outings here and has the top jockey and trainer tandem.

Horse Racing Picks:  1) #2 Mr. Ritz 2) #6 Tiz a Slam 3) #1 Skywire

Longshot Pick: #3 Jungle Fighter (12-1 odds)

Woodbine Race: 9

Post Time: 5:27 EDT
Surface: Dirt   Distance: 6 ½ Furlongs

Morning Line Favorite at BetOnline: #9 O’Keeffe

Backstretch News: This is the first of two allowance races over $100K, which has several contenders. Our favorite is Avie’s Samurai, who has the second-best trainer here in J. Carroll, but who also is the main speed horse and is 2-1-1 (WPS) in six shots. For second is favored O’Keeffe, who has been hot and cold, however, its trainer has not been at 3-1-2 in as many races. Nice Brown Girl closes our ticket and she had two quality workouts last month and is improving with Beyer’s looking like this – 70-76-80.

Horse Racing Picks:  1) #7 Avie’s Samurai 2) #9 O’Keeffe 3) #8 Nice Brown Girl

Longshot Pick: #8 Nice Brown Girl (12-1)

Woodbine Race: 10

Post Time: 5:30 EDT
Surface: Turf   Distance: 7 Furlongs

Morning Line Favorite at BetOnline: #8 Souper Scat Daddy

Backstretch News: Nobody has delivered more reliable speed in this race than Souper Scat Daddy, who has Beyer speed numbers of 82-83-87. That works, along with having top trainer in M. Casse and No. 3 rider P. Husbands and now you understand why we like #8 for horse racing picks. Right next to our pick is Nashtrick, who has been coming on (68-72-84) and is getting stronger. For the third spot, Miracle Silver looks good if this race is rained off the turf (which is possible) to the main track.

Horse Racing Picks:  1) #8 Souper Scat Daddy 2) #7 Nashtrick 3) #4 Miracle Silver

Longshot Pick: #4 Miracle Silver (20-1)

Del Mar Race: 8

Post Time: 8:30 EDT
Surface: Turf   Distance: 1 1/8 Miles

Morning Line Favorite at BetOnline: #7 United

Backstretch News: This the $200,000 Grade 2 Eddie Read Stakes. United is the best sportsbooks‘ pick and this horse has all the right ingredients for success, except one. This race is at nine furlongs and United has won past two races at 10 furlongs. That the question about #7 and we warily will support the winning position. Bowies Hero is the defending champion and was a firm second in its last race and remains a contender. Originaire appears the opposite of United, better suited for a little less distance, and will have Del Mar’s top jock aboard.

Horse Racing Picks:  1) #7 United 2) #1 Bowies Hero 3) #2 Originaire

Longshot Pick: #5 Cleopatra’s Strike (8-1)

Del Mar Race: 9

Post Time: 9:00 EDT
Surface: Dirt   Distance: 1 Mile

Morning Line Favorite at BetOnline: #10 Friar’s Road

Backstretch News: This mile excursion offers many possible wagering choices and here is how we broke it down. Divine Armor has the top Beyer in the field at 89 but drew the far outside post which could hold #11 back slightly. A.P. Pharoah is the son of Triple Crown winner American Pharoah. He’s been good, not great to this juncture, yet his five siblings have all won. Will this be #4’s time? We say yes. Friar’s Road has much the same journey as #11, just more consistent speed and maneuverability to push for the win.

Horse Racing Picks: 1) #4 A.P. Pharoah 2) #10 Friar’s Road 3) #11 Divine Armor

Longshot Pick: #4 A. P. Pharoah (12-1)

Del Mar Race: 10

Post Time: 9:30 EDT
Surface: Turf   Distance: 1 1/16 Miles

Morning Line Favorite at BetOnline: #1 Camino Del Paraiso

Backstretch News: The $125,000 California Dreamin’ Stakes is the last stakes race of our day. Many believe Camino Del Paraiso is due and the favorites in this stakes race are 7-for-13. The thinking isn’t wrong on CDP, we just like Galilean more. #2 has the pedigree to suggest a stellar performance is possible on grass and having F. Prat working the reins is large. Irish Heatwave looks the obvious choice for third and no doubt will be motoring down the stretch based on past performances.

Horse Racing Picks:  1) #2 Galilean 2) #1 Camino Del Paraiso 3) #11 Irish Heatwave

Longshot Pick: #11 Irish Heatwave (6-1)

See you back here next week with more racing, Good Luck!
