Stranger Things 3 Trailer Ratchets Up The Terrifying

To us, it looks like season 3 of “Stranger Things’ is turning the scare factor up waaaaay past 11.

The new trailer for the popular Netflix series dropped and with it came a few prop bets from MyBookie plus some goosebumps and the raising of hair on the backs of our necks.

If you remember the end of Season 2, Eleven (played wonderfully by Millie Bobby Brown) used her powers to close the gate to the Upside Down, effectively saving the sweet town of Hawkins.

Well, not so fast. BTW, here come the trailer spoilers.

The Shadow Monster (AKA Mind Flayer) appears to be back, or at least it’s on the wrong side of the gate, leaving our fave gang of misfits to do battle once again. Rut-roh.

With that, the monster needs a new host having been banished from Will in Season 2. It appears as if Billy (Dacre Montgomery, looking more like Zac Efron every season) is that person.

A lot of the action seems to be taking place at the Hawkins Mall, because, malls are magnets for teens and trouble, right? We blame

The Duffer Brothers, creators of the show, revealed in published reports that this season was influenced by “The Thing,’ “Jurassic Park,’ “Fast Times at Ridgemont High’ and the movies of David Cronenberg.

We definitely see hints of “The Thing’ and there’s a moment when our teens are hiding from the monster very reminiscent of “Jurassic Park,’ but we don’t see a Spicoli getting a pizza delivery in class anywhere in the trailer. Just sayin’.

Friendship still reigns amongst our gang, with some romance on the side as well. But what really bonds them is their fight against evil and learning how it always seems to exist, it just evolves.

In the trailer there is a particularly evil voice that says: “We are going to end you. We are going to end your friends. And we are going to end everyone.’

Well that’s not nice.

All the usual suspects appear in the trailer, some in harrowing situations: Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Nancy (Natalia Dyer), Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), Steve (Joe Keery), Max (Sadie Sink), Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Hopper (David Harbour).

We can only hope they all survive to appear in the trailers for Season 4, which figures in one of MyBookie’s wagers as does Eleven’s nosebleeds and if we’ll meet any other “Numbers,’ like we met No. 8-Kali in Season 3.

The bets at MyBookie are:

Number of Episodes Eleven Will Have A Nose Bleed?

  • OVER 3.5 +110

  • UNDER 3.5 -140

Our Pick: Under

How Many New “Numbers’ Will Be Introduced in Season 3?

  • OVER 2.5 +160

  • UNDER 2.5 -200

Our Pick: Under. Maybe Eleven will find Twelve

Will Season 4 Be the Last Season

  • YES +120

  • NO -150

Our Pick: No, we think they have at least one more … Maybe shoot for “Stranger College’
