Six days after the New York Liberty beat the Seattle Storm by 13 points on the road, those teams will meet again Thursday at 7 p.m. ET at Barclays Center in New York.

New York is favored by 7.5 points across our best sports betting sites to beat Seattle for the third time this season, and our Storm vs. Liberty prediction and expert pick favors the home side to take care of business against a slumping Seattle squad.

Liberty -7.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you just look at these teams' basic resumes across the full season, it's hard to justify laying so many points in a matchup between two contenders by the WNBA championship odds.

Yet the Storm haven't been the same team since the Olympic break, losing five of eight games with the WNBA's fifth-worst net rating (-3.8). Compare that to the Liberty, who have posted the best net rating (+13.2) with a 6-2 record since the break.

That's part of an extended 10-2 run for New York since July 10. All but one of those wins came by at least eight points, including a 98-85 win over the Storm when these teams met last Friday.

Can Storm rebound in New York?

Perhaps the most shocking note from that game was the 45-17 differential on the glass in favor of the Liberty, who boast the league's second-best rebounding rate on the season (52.4%) and best since the Olympic break (57.4%).

Conversely, the Storm have grabbed just 45.5% of available misses since the break. That number has been even worse since signing new starter Gabby Williams, a nifty playmaker at forward who has a combined 10 rebounds in four starts.

Coach Noelle Quinn has bemoaned her team's "backbreaking" effort on the boards, and I'm not sure it'll get any better against a rested New York lineup that hasn't played since that meeting last Friday - with Seattle facing the physical Connecticut Sun twice since then.

Give me the rested team at home in a matchup it's dominated twice already this season.
