It's Steven Gerrard's last match for Liverpool. Will the Reds, the soccer odds-on favorites, close out a largely disappointing season with a victory this weekend at Stoke City?

Odds Overview
Liverpool may be the away team on this occasion, yet the Reds still find themselves favored on the soccer odds board. The lines show Liverpool in the +105 to +120 range to grab the victory.

When it comes to Stoke City, the odds may be incredibly appealing to the casual observer. The Potters can be found at right around +250 to secure three points to end their season on a high note. A draw is quoted in the +250 to +275 range at sportsbooks like William Hill.

Stoke City
The Potters are guaranteed to finish in the top 10 of the Premier League this season, which is an impressive feat in itself given how strong the league has become. Stoke City has picked up 51 points through 37 matches while posting a goal differential of -1.

In terms of recent results, the Potters followed an outstanding 3-0 home win over Tottenham by settling for a 0-0 draw at Burnley. They've proven difficult to beat in recent weeks, having only lost one time over their last six matches, while only allowing four goals in total in the process. What's more Stoke has been getting the job done at home throughout the season and now gets a chance to close things out on a great note - beating Liverpool in front of the home fans would be a terrific ending. Coming in, the Potters have nine wins, six losses and three draws on their own pitch.

The big negative for Stoke this season has been the lack of goalscoring. The Potters have only found the back of the net 42 times in 37 matches, and that's just not going to cut it if they want to be competing for a spot in Europe. Mame Biram Diouf leads all scorers with nine goals, with Jonathan Walters, Peter Crouch and Charlie Adam close behind.

Liverpool
Once near the top and feeling good, the Reds have gone through a dramatic windfall which has seen them fall outside the top four, with plenty of drama along the way. They're currently in fifth place heading into the final weekend, and there's a chance they could move down a couple more places if they don't take care of business at Stoke.

Recent form doesn't bode all that well for the Reds here on Sunday either, as they've won just one of their previous six matches overall. They also haven't won an away league match since the middle of March.

The Raheem Sterling saga continues to linger as well, as the exciting young attacking talent has made it clear that he wishes to leave Liverpool. It's been a highly publicized mess, and one that's not exactly going to make the Reds any more of an appealing target with our soccer picks. Yes, this will be Gerrard's last match in a Liverpool kit, but he hasn't been making much of an impact regardless, and his sendoff at Anfield last week didn't exactly go as planned. Needless to say, the Reds aren't all that attractive of a pick these days.

Premier League Pick
Obviously soccer odds makers are really liking Liverpool's chances of closing things out with a win, but we don't see it happening.

Based on recent form, the Reds don't really deserve to be favored here, as they've been quite disappointing, especially away from Anfield. The mood around the Liverpool camp is also worth considering, as these Sterling rumors surely can't be having much positive effect whatsoever.

So, with that said, for our soccer picks we're thinking the Potters will be able to get a draw out of this meeting, at the very least. They've got former Reds like Adam and Crouch who will be eager to stick it to their old team, and we like their chances of earning a point.
