We’re off to Germany for some hot, money winning Bundesliga betting action when Wolfsburg take on Bayer Leverkusen this coming Saturday in a game at the Volkswagen Arena that spells M-O-N-E-Y to your Humble Handicapper.

If you’ve been following your Humble Handicapper’s tips lately (and why the heck wouldn’t you) you'll know that he’s very in the black with the sportsbooks which means he’s well in Mrs Richardson’s good books, but we don’t just rest on our laurels round here, we go out and win more.

Enough with the bragging rights…WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?

When last these sides met Bayer came out on top to the tune of 3-1. A repeat of that score is offered up at best soccer odds of 22/1 while the reverse is a mere 18/1. Why? Maybe because that was the only game in the last five where Bayer came out on top.

Wolfsburg have won three of the last five meetings between these two sides, and the other was a draw. And this seems as good a time as any to go over the basics, which are; Wolfsburg coming out on top at 6/4, a draw at 12/5 and a Bayer win at 7/4.

Tale of the table

Bayer are sitting second on the Bundesliga after 21 games. Second is pretty tidy place to be, but they are 16 points behind table-topping Bayern Munich (who are way out in front with 59 points).

The chasing pack behind Bayer is made up of Borussia Dortmund and FC Schalke 04, who are one point and three points behind Bayer respectively. With two teams just one win away from usurping Bayer from second place means that they have everything to play for.

Hungry like the Wolf(sburg)

Wolfsburg are sat in, the non-too shabby 5th place in the German top flight and are an not-insurmountable four points behind Schalke. But the table only reflects past games, what of recent form I hear you cry!

Wolfsburg are on a reasonably tidy run with just two defeats in their last ten league games. They do have three draws, but still look quite presentable.

The gap between Wolfsburg and Bayer is just six points, yet a lesser gap exists between Wolfsburg and 9th place FC Augsburg (on 31 points). This means that Wolfsburg are very much in the game too.

What of Bayer’s form

Bayer have won 14 of their 21 games this season, drawing just once and losing six. Wolfsburg have won 11 and drawn three, yet lost seven games.

If you’re looking at goals scored and conceded Wolfsburg have managed 35 and conceded 10. That sort of averaging out would give you 3-1 to Wolfsburg, see the best soccer odds above.

You might want to have a little punt on that 3-1 as it was the exact score back in December 2012, when these sides met plus Wolfsburg have scored three goals against Bayer twice in their last five

I’d say that you should stay well away from the goalless draw at 13/1, as we haven’t seen a single clean sheet between these two sides in the last five meetings.

Bayer have lost their last two and won just two games from their last five.

Wolfsburg have done a little better, they’ve won three and lost two of their last five, hoverer they have won their last three consecutive games.

Wolfsburg have kept just one clean sheet in their last five, whereas Bayer have kept one, and failed to score twice. Like I said avoid the 0-0.

Who’s going to win (it’s me!)

The bookies like a clear winner as they have Wolfsburg doing it over both halves at 11/4, then Bayer on the 45 and the 90 at 7/2.

And don’t even get me started on Bayer’s Champions League performance against PSG.

Prediction: Back a Wolfsburg win (with a consolation goal for Bayer) 2-1 at best soccer odds of 10/1 with Ladbrokes.
