Though the Hammers are at home, they're rightly considered underdogs, with Bale's trusty left foot and the rest of Tottenham's fearsome side set to come to Upton Park.
West Ham is listed at 9/4 in the soccer odds to capture the victory, while Tottenham is at an attractive price of 23/20. A draw can be backed at 47/20.
The Hammers have been waiting patiently for their chance to get back on the pitch. They haven't been in action for over two weeks.
It was not the result they were hoping for either that day as they fell 2-1 to Aston Villa. West Ham actually made a good account of themselves away from home, generating more possession and total chances, but they weren't clinical enough to get the job done.
With the loss, West Ham resides in the eleventh spot in the Premier League, though they're just one point up on Fulham, Sunderland and Norwich City.
With teams right on their heels and the Hammers struggling to locate consistency, a win on Monday could be a massive boost to morale at the perfect time.
Though Andy Carroll's return is a boost, the Hammers have had trouble in the scoring department all season. They've mustered up just 29 total goals, while allowing 38, and will clearly need to do better against a potent Tottenham side.
Spurs were rescued by Mousa Dembele in the return leg of their Champions League tie with Lyon.
It looked as if Andre Villas-Boas' side was headed out of the competition on away goals, but Dembele fired a late equalizer and Tottenham went through with a 3-2 advantage across the two legs. They will now face Inter Milan in the next round of the competition.
There's still a task at hand in the league though, with Spurs firmly in the hunt for a top four spot and a subsequent berth into the Champions League for next season.
Outside of White Hart Lane, Tottenham has won seven, tied two and lost four in 13 matches. Spurs have been scoring at a decent rate (24) in these away matches, and you have to like their chances this weekend against a susceptible West Ham defense.
The way Bale has been playing, you can never really count Tottenham out. The Welshman has been getting plaudits from across the globe and his performances have justified the praise. He leads the team with 13 league goals on the season.
Premier League Pick
West Ham has a habit of rising to the occasion at home, and they're one of the teams in the Premier League that have been just that much better on their own pitch.
Still, Spurs have the more well-rounded team from top to bottom and have been far more consistent in terms of their form. They may have some tired legs from the encounter with Lyon, but Tottenham is the healthiest they've been all season and now have the rotation depth to handle the quick turnaround.
So while we definitely don't believe it'll be a walk in the park for Bale and company, we do think their individual brilliance will be the deciding factor. As such, we're backing Tottenham with our soccer picks.
