Oh to be a Liverpool fans as the ‘Pool are having a great season. The only people happier than Liverpool’s faithful followers are those of you out there who follow your Humble Handicapper’s top soccer picks (and win big). There’s more money to be made when Liverpool take on West Brom in the EPL this weekend.

Liverpool utterly ran away with Everton when they played the latest Merseyside Derby so they’ll be full of verve and spin, not to mention full of themselves when they take on West Brom at the weekend. It’s a very different story for West Brom, as manager Pepe Mel is still looking for his first win as Baggies boss. There’s more bad news for West Brom as they will be missing Stephane Sessegnon for another month.

Before Everton took on and were taken apart by Liverpool just a point separated fourth-placed Liverpool and 6th place Everton. But a seven point cushion and a real sense of Champions league possibility has returned to Anfield. At time of press the best odds on Liverpool managing a top four finish are 4/5. If you want to look at that with a bit of perspective, WBA are 6/1 to be relegated out of the EPL next season.

The stats all point in one way for this game, and it’s towards Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers' side have made a very promising start to 2014, winning five of their six matches so far this year, including the derby victory and have qualified the fifth round of the FA Cup after their 2-0 win at Bournemouth on Saturday.

So…long story short Liverpool will win this game, and win it with ease. The sportsbooks have Liverpool winning at 4/6, a Baggies win at 5/1 and a draw at 3/1. I’d stay well away from the Baggies win and the draw. Liverpool have plenty of reasons to be cheerful…and your Humble Handicapper always says that success begets success and I confidently predict that Liverpool will not only win this game but they will win both halves, something offered up at the best soccer odds of 7/4. Again for comparison, West Brom winning both halves is at 10/1 and even them taking the game at the 90 after drawing at the 45 is at 12/1. But why waste your money on those bets.

If you like recent history as a guide for your bets you should know that the last time these sides met, back in October 2013, Liverpool romped home 4-1 victors. Since then Liverpool have gone on from strength to strength and while WBA have spluttered and staggered on. You can back a repeat of that score (available at best soccer odds of 25/1) or if you fancy seeing a similar game why not back a Suarez hat trick, he got one last time. Three goals for Liverpool’s toothy striker is offered up at 14/1.

Slight ray of hope

Don’t forget the Baggies surprised everyone, not least Liverpool in this fixture back in the 2012-13 season with a 3-0 win at The Hawthorns. However a repeat of that scoreline is at soccer odds of 100/1, that tells you all you need to know if your considering that as one of your soccer picks.

Prediction: Liverpool win, 2-1 available at best soccer odds of 8/1 with BetVictor.
