Amazingly enough, these two sides will meet up for the third time in a week this Thursday. Will it be Villarreal or Real Sociedad that advances to the quarter-finals? Let's go over the odds to find the value soccer pick for this re-match.

Odds Overview

Last week's first leg saw the two La Liga outfits draw 0-0 in Anoeta.

There's no confusion about the favorites for this deciding leg. Villarreal will come in at -128 or so to win, while Real Sociedad is listed at +370 and a draw can be locked in at +290 in the soccer odds.

Days after getting held without a goal at Real Sociedad, The Yellow Submarine came out with reckless abandon in a league match against the very same opponent, winning 5-1 in front of the Villarreal faithful.

It was a day to remember for those at El Madrigal, especially since the win pushed Villarreal into fifth place in the La Liga table.

Giovani Dos Santos opened the scoring in the 16th minute and scored his second six minutes after Ikechukwu Uche had put The Yellow Submarine up 2-0. With the score at 3-0 by halftime, Villarreal could have sat back and played it safe.

However, they came out and added two more goals (through Uche and Moiss Gomez) to make an even bigger statement to the rest of the league.

If Uche and Dos Santos, the Mexican internationals, can play like they did on Monday, The Yellow Submarine should be able to advance. Combined they've scored 19 league goals this season, while Dos Santos has also chipped in with five assists.

Real Sociedad

Sociedad gets a chance to redeem themselves after a hugely disappointing effort on Monday.

Jagoba Arrasate's gang has had trouble defensively all season long and it was no different in the 5-1 loss. Sociedad has now given up 28 goals in 19 La Liga fixtures, while allowing 21 in 10 away matches.

The only bright spot for the losing side was a consolation goal from Imanol Agirretxe, which was his third league goal of the season. Other than that it was certainly a performance to forget for Sociedad.

That letdown was not indicative of what we're used to seeing out of this outfit this season. With high quality talent like Antoine Griezmann and Carlos Vela, we think they'll put in a much better shift in the rematch.

Like the tandem of Uche and Dos Santos, Griezmann and Vela have been goalscoring machines in 2013/14. Griezmann leads the team with 12 league goals, while Velga has contributed eight goals and five assists in 18 domestic appearances.

Copa del Rey Pick

What an interesting situation we've got on our hands here. These teams are clearly very familiar with one another and there's not going to be any shortage of motivation on either side.

Real Sociedad will want to get some revenge after getting pummeled a few days ago, while Villarreal knows the Copa del Rey could be their only chance of getting silverware this season. They're not going to want to take one step forward and then two steps back.

It's mighty difficult to easily beat the same team two times in a row, but ultimately we do think The Yellow Submarine will secure the victory and the subsequent berth into the next round of the competition. Look for the in-form duo of Dos Santos and Uche to make the difference once again, as we add Villarreal as one of our free soccer picks for Thursday.
