Valencia is posted up as a 5/13 favorite on the soccer odds board, with Levante trading at 6/1 and a draw at 3/1.
Only one goal was scored when these sides met up during the first week of October. Still, the OVER 2.5 goals is getting more action than the UNDER, suggesting we could be in for more goals this weekend.
After a tough 2-1 loss to PSG in the first leg of their Champions League, the Goats have recorded a 2-0 home win over Mallorca and a 2-2 draw with Real Zaragoza.
The man of the match for Valencia in the draw was Jonas. He helped the Goats erase a 2-0 deficit by scoring a brace, one in each half.
That could end up being a crucial point in the La Liga race. Right now Valencia is just one point behind fourth-place Malaga, who hold the last Champions League spot. It's safe to say they won't be catching the likes of Barcelona, Atletico and Real Madrid.
Valencia's home form has been strong, with eight wins, two draws and three losses. They've tied Barcelona and beaten Atletico inside the Mestalla so far this season.
That said, the Goats have been leaking far too many goals on their own pitch. They've allowed 21 goals in those 13 games at home, so it's a good thing they face a Levante outfit that's had trouble scoring all season long.
It's been a mixed bag of results for the Frogs over the last 10 days.
First they tied Real Sociedad 1-1 in an away league match, days before beating Olympiakos 1-0 in the first leg of their Europa League fixture. That too came away from home.
This past Monday, Levante returned home and put forth a humiliating performance in a 2-0 loss to lowly Osasuna. Two late goals from the visitors doomed the Frogs, who didn't deserve even a point based on their showing. They had just three shots on goal in total.
Levante's away form has to worry their fans ahead of this weekend's clash. The Frogs have three wins, three draws and seven losses in their road matches this season and have scored only nine goals in all.
The only player that's been scoring at a good clip for Levante is Obafemi Martins, who actually scored the winner in the first meeting with Valencia earlier this term. Martins, a Nigerian striker, has a team-leading seven goals so far.
La Liga Pick
We will be recommending a play on the Goats this weekend, as they're the better side and will be at home. Sounds obvious, but that's always a good formula for getting the three points.
Motivation is also there for the Goats. They lost the first meeting 1-0 and will be aiming to get their revenge on their home ground.
Valencia is always tough to be at home, while the Frogs have been having a really hard time getting any kind of consistency in away games. This has all the makings of being a convincing win for the Goats as they try to make a move into the fourth position in La Liga.
