The English Premier League may have a new champion however that doesn't mean there’s nothing to be on or get excited about in next weekend's games. The possible jewel in the Premiership crown sees Wigan host Tottenham, with both sides desperate victory…for very different reasons.

Blah blah blah Manchester United win the league blah blah, as predicted by your Humble Handicapper blah- blah long ago. But anybody who follows my posts with any care and attention will know is that I'm not one of the shout about ‘I told you so’.

But I did say that Manchester United would win the league quite some time ago.

Take a look at all of our weekend Premier League Tips & Predictions.

Enough already…WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?

To be fair I did also say that Wigan Athletic would be going down this season, but they are fighting the good fight and certainly won't be going down easily. However at present Wigan are 8/11 with the sports books to be relegated from the Premier League and 66/1 to go down dead last. Spurs, their opponents on Saturday we could kick them while they're on the way down after they played such an important role in deciding the league champions last weekend by beating Manchester city 3-1, as we predicted with our soccer picks last week. Tottenham chasing that all important Champions League place and are currently 5/6/ on a top four finish.

Heads up

Looking at the straight head-to-head stats between these sides it’s reasonably even as both sides have come out on top twice and what's even more interesting is that of three of the previous four games, where we have seen a clear winner, it has been the away side that has won it. Don't expect a great deal of goals from this fixture as in the previous five games we have seen four clean sheets, two game decided by just a single goal and one game that ended goalless.

I think Wigan with their back-to-back defeats, relegation worries and FA Cup final to worry about will be all of the tizzy and Tottenham buoyed by their amazing comeback against Manchester City last Sunday, combined with the fact that they can almost touch Champions League football will thoroughly put them to the sword. I suggest you back a Spurs victory at 21/20 back Spurs winning both halves at 9/4.

If you're fingerless on your site during the dog you should know that a bet on Wigan winning is at 11/4 but if you're that way inclined I think the more sensible thing to do a is bet on a draw which is available at 5/2 if it's going to be a draw it’s going to be a 1-1 draw with at 6/1, not that it will be a draw.
