Manchester United look to extend their uplifting form when they descend on Newcastle United in EPL week 33 betting. Find out what soccer odds are currently in the mix and what our soccer-betting verdict is after analysis.

Manchester United’s Fall From Grace
Much has been made of Man United’s fall from grace this season, a fall outside of the Top 6 that represents a new nadir for the Red Devils and their loyal followers that extend beyond Manchester proper to soccer fans worldwide.

But all is not yet lost with six games on the season to go and Man U sitting just two points adrift of sixth-placed Tottenham. Sportsbooks list Man U at favourable +100 futures odds to finish inside the Top 6. They also still give Man U a notional shot at a Top 4 finish, a happenstance that is priced at whopping +4000 futures betting odds at Bet365 but, arguably, has the whiff of a pipedream about it.

Man U are after a rather encouraging week across all competitions. Bouncing back from a 3-0 defeat to Man City in midweek soccer betting action, the Red Devils dismantled Aston Villa 4-1 at the Old Trafford and then – surprise, surprise – stared down Bayern Munich in Champions League, holding the defending champions to a 1-1 draw at the Old Trafford.

Few expected Man U to perform as well as they did against Bayern Munich. Case-and-point, odds makers matched Man U at +600 soccer odds to win outright and the draw at +333 soccer odds. Put another way, Bayern descended on the Old Trafford as the indisputable away favourites at -225 to win outright. Such was the confidence in the German giants that credit must be given where it’s due.

Going into the weekend, Man U are riding a wave of momentum and renewed confidence and sportsbooks have jumped back on their bandwagon too, sending the Red Devils on favourable -105 soccer odds to St. James Park. Encouraging signs for soccer bettors looking to back Man U in week 33 Premier League betting but they should be taken with some reservation. After all, it’s been a rollercoaster season for Man U. Appearing to turn a corner several times already only to regress backwards again.

Newcastle United at the Disadvantage
It’s been a rough few weeks for Newcastle United and accordingly they enter their clash with Manchester United at the significant disadvantage, tipped at +260 soccer odds to win outright.

The Magpies are after back-to-back blowouts in Premier League – 3-0 to Everton and 4-0 to Southampton. That they have been wholly off colour and firing blanks on their last two outings doesn’t inspire much confidence particularly when it seems that Man U are experiencing a belated revival.

That said Newcastle United have won their last two domestics – 1-0 over Aston Villa followed by a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace. Back-to-back wins that snapped a five-game losing streak at home, which they’ll certainly be looking to extend at the expense of Man U.

Soccer Betting Verdict
Newcastle United have very little to play for down the stretch. Well, nothing that can be quantified meaningfully such as a spot in Europe next season would. But they are still aiming to finish in the top ten (they are currently ninth in the table). There’s also the opportunity to throw a spanner in the works for Man U, which must hold some appeal.

Newcastle United have home advantage and that counts for something. After all, they have had the measure of Chelsea this season at St. James Park, beating the Blues 2-0. They’ve also held Liverpool to a 2-2 draw. Two results against the league’s top set isn’t exactly going to tip the scale towards the Magpies wholeheartedly but it does suggest that they do have a sliver of hope and could potentially come through on the home win or the draw, both tipped at +260 soccer odds at Bet365.

That said, after Man U’s statement draw against the best club in Europe, most soccer bettors are sure to jump on their bandwagon and take them on their soccer picks at -105 to win outright. Understandably so. But keep in mind that Man U have the reverse leg at Allianz Arena to contend with next week. It remains to be seen how much they are willing to risk at the weekend. A Top 6 finish is on the agenda but David Moyes will be looking to give his men the best chance on both fronts surely and most especially in Munich next week.
