The Premier League may be giving us the headlines, but over in Italy there is still plenty of action being played out and plenty of money to be made if you follow our soccer picks.

Lazio have won three times in their last 19 games in Serie A versus the Nerazzurri, but all three of those games came within the last five meetings between the two sides and they also came out on top in the last two matches.

Looking at the last five head-to-head meetings between the two sides it's clearly 3-2 to Lazio and what more Lazio have outscored Inter nine goals to six. Based purely on those facts you should back a Lazio victory and a 3-2 score. The victory is at 6/4, and that score is on offer at most sportsbooks at the price of 33/1.

Look deeper my boy!

Somewhat more interesting than just simple number crunching is in the last five meetings between these two sides it has been the home side that has come out on top each and every single time. Therefore you might like to back Inter winning which is available at 7/4 and if you're that way inclined why not go for a 2-1 score as that was the score the last two times Inter hosted Lazio, and is available at soccer odds of 8/1.

Looking away from the head-to-head meetings between the two sides, Inter could be in trouble, as they have just one victory in their last five games and they have shipped nine goals in their last five games and scored just four. That run also includes two games when they couldn't manage to find the back of the net, although both of those were away from home. In their last two home matches they scored one and two goals and their only victory in their last five games also came at home.

This all gets a little bit confusing maybe you might want to just want to back a draw with your soccer picks, which is available at 9/4 and the short correct score odds the game ending tied is for 1-1 at 5/1.

Lazio have 55 points after 35 games and a goal difference of +6 which puts them in eighth place in the table. Right behind them, Inter have 53 points and a goal difference of +3. This is a real six pointer although I do feel that Lazio have a little bit more to play  for as three points could theoretically take them as high as fifth while Inter have a four-point cushion ahead of ninth place Catania.

Lazio also have just one win in their last five games however it was their most recent outing and it was an absolute corker as they beat Bologna 6-0. Good on them doing the same again against Inter 500/1 (worth a pound) which tells you how likely a repeat of that score is. Lazio’s only victory also came at home and looking a little bit wider those six goals were the first time Lazio had found the back of the net since 12 April. In their last four games before that 6-0 victory they did manage two draws and two defeats but were outscored 4-1. If Inter keep things like that and put four past Lazio with just one goal scored in return you can pick up 66/1 from sports books. However I don't think that is likely at all.

With back-to-back defeats going against a 6-0 victory I think that Lazio will be full of enthusiasm and Inter will be far too worried about their current form to concentrate and get the victory. However I do think it will be close.

Prediction: Lazio win 1-0 available at 10/1 with Ladbrokes.
