After a highly impressive display of fortitude in the first leg, Frankfurt will try to finish the job at home in a Europa League clash with Porto. The odds are out; which line should we be riding for our soccer picks?

Odds Overview

The Dragons will come in as the favorites, but the soccer odds are closer than you may think. Porto is at +140, Frankfurt is in the +170 to +185 range and a draw is available at various sportsbooks at anywhere from +225 to +240.

The First Meeting

The first leg in Portugal was an entertaining one, with Frankfurt doing well to earn a 2-2 draw away from home.

Porto had built up a comfortable 2-0 lead, but Joselu scored and then Alex Sandro scored an own goal, resulting in a crucial result for the visitors. Ricardo Quaresma and Silvestre Varela scored the goals for the Portuguese outfit.

The Eagles were unable to carry over the momentum from the first leg into their league match against Werder Bremen.

In the 0-0 draw, Frankfurt actually held a man-advantage after a red card saw Bremen go down a man in the first half. The Eagles dominated possession from there on out and had their fair share of chances, but just couldn't get one in the back of the net.

League struggles have become commonplace for Frankfurt. They're in the 13th spot in the Bundesliga and are just three points clear of the relegation zone.

Home form has been mixed at best as well for the Eagles. They've won only two times in 11 matches (five draws, four losses) inside their own stadium, while both scoring and allowing in 14 goals in total.

A sheer lack of goalscoring prowess has plagued Frankfurt, as they've scored a grand total of 24 goals in 22 Bundesliga matches. That's the third-lowest total in the entire league. No Eagle has scored more than five goals (Alexander Meier is on top with five) domestically this season.

The Dragons are still very much in the hunt in the Portuguese Liga. They're currently in third but are just two points back of Sporting Lisbon and four behind Benfica, who do also have a match-in-hand.

Three days after the first-leg draw, Porto fell flat on their faces in a 1-0 loss at home to Estoril. It was actually the Dragons' first home loss of the entire campaign, but to be fair Estoril has been enjoying a fantastic season themselves.

Now Porto faces a daunting test in this return leg in Frankfurt. Their away form in the league has been good but not spectacular – they've recorded five wins, two draws and three defeats (15 goals for, 11 allowed) so far.

The top threat for the Dragons this season has been Jackson Martinez, who's scored 14 league goals for the club so far.

The Colombian international has been a star for Porto since joining in 2012. He's totaled 40 goals in 48 appearances and we're sure Frankfurt will be well aware of where the striker is on the pitch at all times.

Europa League Pick

While we commend Frankfurt for the fight they showed in the first leg, we don't suspect Porto will let another one get away.

The Dragons will have the best player on the pitch in Martinez and sometimes a moment or two of pure individual brilliance can make or break these matches.

We think Porto will do enough to overcome an Eagles outfit that's been far from convincing at home, and therefore we'll take a chance on the away side at these reasonable soccer betting odds.

Soccer Pick: Frankfurt 1 Porto 2

Aggregate: Frankfurt 3 Porto 4
