It’s hardly news, but as your Humble Handicapper so accurately predicted many months ago Manchester United went and won the league at a canter with four games to spare, it was pretty much a foregone conclusion long time ago but that doesn't take any shine off the money that I won with my soccer picks and promptly gave my wife.
Take a look at all of our weekend Premier League Tips & Predictions.
Enough with the ‘I told you so’…WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?
There was a time when this would have been a possible six point title decider, and the another time when this could have had a huge impact on which Manchester side would win the league, but as it turns out mission has been accomplished by Manchester United, as it is a mathematical impossibility for Manchester City to generate the required number of points to retain the trophy they won in such spectacular fashion the last day of last season.
How will this impact Arsenal versus Manchester United game I hear you ask. Well normally I'd say that as Manchester United have nothing to play for other than spite and Arsenal are chasing a Champions League spot they would be safe to back a home victory. Arsenal victory is available at 6/5 an away victory is at 9/4 and a draw is at 5/2. However Arsenal versus Manchester United is no obvious game and while the Mancunians will have the bragging rights of the trophy they are about to get their grubby paws on Arsenal still have a season to salvage. It is worth noting that Arsenal are currently 3/10 on a Champions League finish.
The very obvious score that is 2-1 to United as that was the score the last two times these sides faced off, home and away in the Premier League. This time it’s at 12/1. You might also like to have a little bet on that crazy 8-2 score that Manchester United inflicted on Arsenal back in August 2011. Manchester United replicating scores available on 500/1 while Arsenal getting 8-2 revenge is at 1000/1.
There is an obvious betting selection in this game if you are a Manchester United fan, have a bet on Robin van Persie scoring against his old club. That man Van is at 6/4 to score at any point, 11/2 to score the opening goal and he's also 25/1 to get another hat-trick.
This is also a good time to mention that soccer odds have the Red Robin listed at 1/100 to win the Golden Boot in the Premier league this season.
However it's interesting to note that in the last 11 league games between these two sides the home side's only tasted bitter defeat twice and both times in the Red Devils favour. Watch out for the pub bore, as it is worth noting that in the history of each club Manchester United scored 331 times against Arsenal and conceded 306.
Arsenal have a better recent run despite the position untenable and I think the fact the home side need points considerably more will make all the difference.
Free Soccer Picks, Tips & Predictions: Arsenal win 3-1 available at 22/1 with Stan James.
