There were plenty of goals last weekend and plenty of winnings from the sportsbooks for your Humble Handicapper, but he does want a bit more, thankfully the soccer odds on West Ham United vs. Swansea are offering up cash on a plate for him and of course, you.

Swansea finally got their first home win of the season at home to Sunderland in a stonking 4-0 victory on Saturday, it was just their third three pointer all season but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t sitting pretty in the EPL, they’re mid-table on ten points. West Ham followed up their, against the soccer odds, victory over the Spurs before the international break with a frustrating 3-1 reverse against Manchester City last Saturday.

Adding those score together – hey why not- would give you Swansea winning 7-1, an option that can be added to your sports picks 500/1 but a loose change bet of ever there was one.

Good fact!

These two sides have met a total of 53 times in all competitions, with Swansea having won 17, 12 draws and West Ham winning 24. This time around a Swansea win is at 4/5 with the sportsbooks draw at 11/4 and a WHU win at 9/2.

Swansea is a side that seems to either win or lose – with just a single drawn game from their eight games so far. By comparison the Hammers seem to positively court drawn games. They have drawn just as many as they have won this term and have conceded as many goals as they have scored. West Ham United is 14th in the table on 8 points while Swansea is 11th on 10, so this is technically a six point game.

Home Comforts

Looking at the last two head to head meetings between these two sides it’s been the home side coming out on top both times, 1-0 to Swansea in February and 3-0 to WHU the August before. The eagle eyed reader will have spotted that when the home side won they won to nil.

And while we are talking about the home side winning to nil we should mention that the soccer odds on 1-0 to Swansea is at 7/1, 2-0 is at 8/1 and 3-0 is at 15/1.

For the history biased soccer pickers out there, you might like to know that before the aforementioned games the last time Swansea and West Ham met in the league was the 1992-93 season, when the Hammers ran out 5-1 winners. A repeat of that score is offered up a t 500/1, but stay away from such long odds.

Swansea City have only failed to find the back of the net in one of their last five games and have a goals to game average, based on those five, of 1 & 3/5s for the sake of easy maths we might as well round that up to two goals per game and therefore I‘d suggest a bet on Swansea winning 2-0 is worth a couple of quid.

However, this season West Ham United has scored in most of their games, only been held once in their last five and have averaged nine goals in five games. So average that up and you get 2 goals per game.

Does that sound like a 2-2 draw to you? If it does you can get odds of 18/1 on it happening.

Your Humble Handicapper likes those odds but the tea leaves tell him we’ll see fewer goals, also the soccer odds have Under 2.5 goals at 5/6 while Over is at 4/5.

Free Soccer Pick: These sides will equal each other out, but it will only be 1-1, at 13/2 with William Hill.
