Swansea City vs. Arsenal

Out of the Champions League but with a very creditable 2-0 victory in Munich not quite enough to see Arsene Wengers men through in midweek, their manager is now billing this as THE make or break game in Arsenal's season. And very possibly means the difference between whether Wenger is still at the helm next season or not. The Swans are 21/10 to win this one with Arsenal at 6/5 to record the victory, both with Ladbrokes. The draw is at 5/2 betting odds with bet365.
They begin the weekend five points behind the top four, with the 2-1 defeat at bitter rivals Tottenham fresh in the memory and also helping them hold fourth and a Champions League spot, where Arsene Wenger has always led the Gunners in his 16 previous seasons at the club.
But Arsenal have not now won a trophy in the last seven of those seasons and possibly without the Champions League money next season this could really be the start of a definite decline at Arsenal and as the Gunners face up to an eighth successive season without a trophy, they'll face a Swansea team still on a high after their Cup win and with another stellar season and league security well in hand, not to mention European football already secured along with a top ten finish, this is not the time to be going there at all.
That is because it is 'Dig The New Breed' in Wales (by comparison), with a first domestic trophy in their history and European football just ten short years after being one defeat away from dropping out of the league all together! Some achievement and why boss Michael Laudrup is being linked to ALL the top jobs across Europe right now, but has signed a new contract so will remain and build at Swansea. For now at least!
Swansea beat Arsenal 3-2 in this fixture last season, and also won 2-0 at the Emirates in December. A repeat of those two scorelines are at 28/1 and 16/1 respectively with bet365.

However, Arsenal beat the Swans in the FA Cup in January, winning 1-0 in a replay after the sides had drawn 2-2 at the Liberty Stadium. A repeat of those results are at 15/2 and 12/1 with Ladbrokes respectively.
Top goalscorer Michu has scored three goals in three matches against Arsenal in all competitions this season. He is 7/4 to score anytime and 6/1 to score last which with so many late goals between these two is definitely worth a flutter as in the three matches between these two teams this season, six of the seven goals have been scored in the last nine minutes. That stat also makes the Draw/Swansea double result at 7/1 with Ladbrokes well worth a good look in my opinion.
Swansea are looking for a fourth consecutive home win. They haven't lost at the Liberty Stadium since Norwich beat them 4-3 on 8 December. Swansea have led at half-time on five occasions this season - and have converted all five into victories. So the double result bet of Swansea/Swansea at 9/2 with William Hill is my soccer pick here.
The Gunners are unbeaten in their last 13 Premier League matches that have followed a Champions League fixture since a 2-1 defeat at Tottenham in October 2011. They have won just three times in their 13 matches against top-half clubs this season however, and have won just one of their last four away games in the league. But they have conceded just 13 away goals in the top flight all season.
