Odds Overview

Liverpool is quoted at +100 or so to get the three points away from home. The Saints are available at a very attractive price of +275, while a draw ranges from +250 to +265 depending on the soccer betting odds board we check.

Saints fans are hoping their club bounces back after suffering consecutive defeats in the cup and then the league.

First Southampton bowed out of F.A. Cup at the hands of Sunderland, but things got even worse a week later in a 3-1 away loss to West Ham. The Saints were actually leading after the eighth minute through a Maya Yoshida goal, but the advantage just couldn't be sustained.

Southampton dominated large portions of the match and racked up 26 total shots, five of which were on goal. They couldn't make the most of their opportunities though.

The Saints are in ninth place in the Premier League right now, one point behind Newcastle and 11 behind the top five. They've built up an eight-point advantage on tenth place, so they'll all but locked into finishing in the top half of the table by season's end.

Home form has been pretty good four Southampton. They have five wins, five draws and three losses in 13 matches heading into Saturday's date with Liverpool.

It wasn't the prettiest of wins, but Liverpool's attacking quality was their saving grace again in a 4-3 win over Swansea City.

Daniel Sturridge added two more goals, while Jordan Henderson also got in on the action with two goals of his own. The Reds made far too many mistakes defensively though, something Brendan Rodgers will be hoping his side can remedy ahead of this weekend's visit.

Since Tottenham faltered at Norwich City, Liverpool now sits six points clear in the fourth spot, while remaining only four points back of first place, currently occupied by Chelsea.

It hasn't been all sunshine and rainbows for the Reds away from Anfield though, as the team's recorded a 5-4-4 mark so far. They've scored more goals (28) away from home than any other team in the Premier League, but their defense (23 allowed) has been the Achillies' heel.

Still, Liverpool look a real threat whenever they have the ball and the partnership of Sturridge and Luis Suarez has been as formidable as ever. Suarez may not be scoring as much lately, but he's still creating more opportunities than anyone else on the club. Will he break the scoring duck on Saturday?

Premier League Pick

Don't expect a walk in the park for the Reds. They may be in the better form at the moment, but they've had some shaky performances away from home.

Moreover, it's not like Southampton has been a punching bag in the Premier League. Sure they've cooled off significantly since a red-hot start, but these Saints still play a very attractive brand of soccer and they're going to generate chances, no doubt about it.

That should worry Liverpool supporters, as the club has had a lot of trouble finding their defensive discipline. Shipping three goals at home to Swansea City is all the proof you need.

Regardless, we do think the Reds will fight tooth and nail to earn a hard-fought victory, similar to what we saw out of them at Fulham. Back a narrow Liverpool win this Saturday for your soccer picks.
