The LA Galaxy have one of the best records in the MLS but are still the only team in the league which hasn’t won on the Road. Join us as we check trends for game in Colorado and share our pick.

Odds Overview
LA Galaxy at Colorado Rapids [Sunday 02:00] (MLS Live, Altitude, TWCSN-LA (USA) 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT): This Week 24 Western Conference fixture sees the last-place Colorado Rapids (5-9-6, 18 GF-19 GA) playing host to the 2nd-place LA Galaxy (9-7-7, 36 GF-28 GA) at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City on Saturday night. Soccer odds makers here have lined the visiting Galaxy +162 —despite the fact the Galaxy still haven’t won a game on the Road this season—host Colorado also at +162 and the Draw at +229 (bet365). The Total Goals in this weekend fixture is 2½, with the Over juiced at -105 and Under priced at -117 (bet365). Some Props wagers for this game from suburban Denver: Both Teams To Score: ‘Yes’ -133, ‘No’ +100 (BetVictor); To Win To Nil: Rapids +350, LA Galaxy +350 (Sky Bet); and, Draw No Bet: Rapids -111, LA Galaxy +108 (BetVictor).

LA Galaxy
In MLS Week 23 play on Saturday night in Houston, the LA Galaxy (0-5-6 Road, 8 GF-21 GA) were blanked 3-0 by the Dynamo, making it 11 straight Away games without a Win (and just 5 Points earned) for Manager Bruce Arena’s enigmatic team. With Robbie Keane (9 goals, 4 assists), former Liverpool MF Steven Gerrard (1 goal), Sebastian Lletget (5 goals), Juninho (4 goals), Gyasi Zardes (4 goals), Alan Gordon (4 goals), Baggio Husidic (2 goal) and Swedish Midfielder Stefan Ishizaki (4 assists, 1 goal), this is a team that can definitely make a run at a repeat MLS Cup (Galaxy 5/1, bet365) this season. But the Road has proven to be a very tough place for this team this season. Nineteen of the 20 MLS clubs have won on the Road and the LA Galaxy are the one which still hasn;t as we tread on into August. One positive for the visitors here is that they will like be getting starting GK Jaime Penedo (Panama), Zardes (US) and Gordon (US) back from CONCACAF Gold Cup play while another is that they are playing the Rapids, the last place team in their Western Conference, although it seems the Galaxy couldn't have caught Colorado at a worse time.

Colorado Rapids
The Colorado Rapids (3-4-3 Home, 11 GF-12 GA) have been in very good form of late, going 3-1-2 over their L6 games and beating the Seattle Sounders in the Emerald City for the first time ever (1-0) in their last game, although the hosts were without Clint Dempsey (US) who was also playing at the Gold Cup tournament while a couple of other key sounders were also missing. The Rapids (100/1 to win MLS Cup, BetVictor) are led on Offense by Gabriel Torres (4 goals) and besides Dillon Serna (2 goals), the 26-year-old Panamanian is the only Colorado player with multiple goals for the Rapids (24 points), who sit 8 points off 6th Place (32 points) and a potential Playoff spot as we start the Second Half of the MLS Regular Season. Dillon Powers (1 goal), Dominique Badji (1 goal), Nick LaBrocca (1 goal), James Riley (1 goal), Sam Cronin (1 goal), 21-year-old Argentinian Juan Ramírez (1 goal) and Lucas Pittinari (1 goal) have accounted for some of the other Rapids’ goals and this is a team—behind stellar GK Clint Irwin—which is almost forced to place great Defense because of its ineptitude on Offense.

Current Form, Series Trends, Betting Conclusions
Lifetime in MLS action in this series, as expected, the LA Galaxy are 38-11-24 (119 GF-77 GA) and 18-7-12 (54 GF-40 GFA) here on the Road against Colorado. The galaxy are unbeaten in their L3 (2-1-0) against the Rapids, outscoring them 11-4 in the process and the last time these two met in (suburban) Denver, the LA Galaxy won in a 4-3 shootout, but the rapids were 2-1-0 in their previous 3 Home meetings with LA, outscoring the Galaxy, 4-1 in three low-scoring games which all went Under the Total. And with the Rapids (Current Form: DLLWWW) playing relatively low-scoring games and having a 2.30 gpg average in 10 Home contests entering this one, it seems backing the Under may be the best route, especially with Penedo possibly returning for the Galaxy (Current Form: DWWLWWL) and Irwin in goal for the hosts. This soccer pick is a tough handicap with the better team winless on the Road and the worst team in the conference suddenly playing their best soccer of the season and at Home in Commerce City and this is one of those games that fits the Draw mold because of all of the conflicting realities and should be wagered on with great discretion and with minimal money.

Predicted Final Score: Colorado Rapids 1 LA Galaxy 1

Major League Soccer Picks: Under 2½ -117, Draw +229 at Bet365
