Real Madrid take on Levante in week 27 La Liga betting, a match that is dubbed a foregone conclusion by sportsbooks across the board. So where are the value soccer picks? Let’s find out shall we.

Real Madrid clinging to slim lead

Real Madrid failed to double their advantage in La Liga last weekend when they emerged from a compelling Madrid derby on a draw. Then again, the day could have ended pointless entirely had not Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale (assist) combined together to score a late equaliser that lifted Real to the 2-2 draw with Atletico Madrid and salvaged the point. So not all was lost.

As things currently stand Real Madrid sit atop the table with a slim edge over title rivals Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. With a 20-4-2 mark, they are a point ahead of Barca and three points clear of Atletico Madrid.

In the context of the league, it means the title race continues to simmer delightfully – Real Madrid maintain their nominal edge in sportsbooks – which was only recently attributed – at -110 to win outright over Barcelona tipped at +110 to win outright at Bet365. Sportsbooks meanwhile continue to snub Atleti with far-flung soccer odds of +1400, despite the intense showing at the Vicente Calderon against Real Madrid that keeps them well and firmly inside the title race.

In any event, looking ahead to the upcoming weekend, Real Madrid are presented with a perfect opportunity to advance their cause in La Liga. At least so think odds makers who list Real as the massive, indisputable favourites at -1600 at Bet365 to win outright over Levante.

Levante are currently sat in eighth place in the table with a 9-9-8 record and 36 points. Recent form is encouraging as they are enjoying a five-game unbeaten trek around the league, which includes two wins and three draws.

That said Levante are listed at ridiculously large +2500 soccer odds to master mind the upset at the Bernabéu, and, truth be told, those odds do seem appropriate.

Levante are sure to be in over their heads. There is a huge gap in quality and standard between the top three clubs in La Liga and the rest of the field, as evinced by their records on the season (Real Madrid are almost 30 points ahead). Nothing would be more indicative of what we might expect than Levante’s meetings with any one of the standards in La Liga: Barcelona most recently disembowelled Levante at Camp Nou 5-1 and Atleti beat Levante 3-2 at the Calderón. Closer to home, Real Madrid, on a visit to Valencia, beat Levante 3-2 in their kop while Barcelona delivered a 4-1 beat down.

Real Madrid vs. Levante match betting tips and picks:

In every sense, this is a home banker with Real Madrid almost a certain bet to win. However, at -1600 soccer odds there is no value in it for soccer bettors. The value soccer picks are in periphery markets, such as the totals and double result and handicap, to name a few.

Given the firepower and the utter mismatch on paper this game should sport lots of goals so the Over 2.5 at -450 is a safe choice. A better soccer pick though would be a combined bet offered at William Hill with both teams to score and the Over 2.5 at +130. Or simply the Over 3.5 which is matched at -175 at William Hill. If you fancy the higher total then Real Madrid on the handicap, which is matched at -3 (+138) at Bet365, is another soccer betting option to consider. Finally, Real Madrid to win both halves is trading at -350 at Bet365 and appears to be the likeliest option.
