After the international break the Premier League is back with a bang and as the season goes on that final furlong is time to wring every last penny out of those soccer picks.

Sunderland V Manchester United

The weekend gets off with what should be an absolute banker when Manchester United travel to Sunderland. Manchester United have only dropped points in one of their last 10 league games and that was a mere draw, but Sunderland by comparison have only taken maximum points from two of their last 10 league games. Everything points to a Man United victory at 7/10 and Manchester United winning both halves at 5/4. If you're unsure about how likely are Sunderland victories you should know that the current soccer odds on the Black Cats winning is available at 5/1.

Arsenal V reading

This match is another one where a team at one end of the table takes on a team at the other end. Reading desperately need the points to try and keep them up, but I think it will be too little too late and don't forget that Arsenal are still four points of that blessing fourth-place champions league spot. I don't think Gunners will have any sympathy or kindness to show Reading and I expect them to roll all over the Royals. Back an Arsenal win at 2/7 and go for a high-scoring game…let’s say 3-0 at 9/1.

Man City V Newcastle

Some might say that this would be the upset of the weekend’s fixtures, as it should be all about City but (as Everton showed last weekend) the reigning champions are hardly the all-conquering champions they would like to be. Still I think City will tidy up and take all three points from this game as Newcastle aren't quite good enough to compete with a side so far ahead of them in the league. The best that the Geordies can hope for is a draw which is available at most online sportsbooks as the price of 33/7, but my money is going on a City win at 1/3.

Southampton V Chelsea

Southampton may have caused a real upsets, when they beat Liverpool 3-1 in the last round of Premier league games, but I don't think another shock result will happen when they take on Chelsea. Chelsea are still third in the table but are just one point ahead of Spurs and five points ahead of Arsenal, and while technically they are as close to second placed Manchester City as they are to fifth place Arsenal I don't think Chelsea will finish this season any higher than third in the table. Couple this with the fact that Southampton are looking pretty safe from relegation and everything points towards Chelsea win available at Evens.

Swansea V Spurs

Usually this game could well be a coin toss as Spurs are consistently inconsistent and Swansea are the sort of side that caused upsets punching well above the weight. If it wasn't for the fact that Spurs have already had back-to-back shocks having lost to Fulham and Liverpool in their last two league games and I don't think they can afford to lose three in the bounce. I think Swansea will be on the receiving end of a very professional display by Spurs. Spurs win at 17/13, something in the region of 2-0 available at 13/1.

West Ham V West Brom

When these two West sides meet I think you can pretty much toss a coin as West Ham seem to be the very definition of anything can happen side and West Bromwich have no real consistency. Looking at the tale of the table shows you that West Ham have only dropped four games at home and West Brom have only one four times away, which suggested it might well be a home victory. However, your Humble Handicapper thinks this was going to be a draw which is available at 5/2.

Wigan V Norwich

Wigan will be buoyed by their 2-1 victory over Newcastle last time out, although they blatantly didn't deserve it and should have played the majority of the game with 10 men. As they are now just three points away from safety and six points away from 13th they'll feel like they could well go on and win this game. But, I predict Wigan will receive some tough justice two weeks late and will succumb to Norwich, at 43/13.

Everton V Stoke

Stoke have only won once away from home all season and therefore I don't think they can do it against Everton, a draw at 37/12 is possibly the best they can hope for. Common-sense and form says this game should be an Everton win at 6/11, but I wouldn't think any less of you if you had a side bet on this game ending drawn.

Villa V Liverpool

Foregone conclusion alert ! Aston Villa are in trouble and Liverpool are pretty good. Liverpool will bounce back after their defeat against Southampton and absolutely tear fell apart Villa, available at 4/5.

Fulham V QPR

Despite that Fulham seemed to be a little bit of a bogey team me at the minute I do get the feeling that QPR now know that they can be going down and their heads will drop and they won’t get the three points they need from this match. This game will quite likely end drawn, and you can pick up odds of 27/10 and the two sides sharing the points.
