Here’s an EPL betting preview for the tilt between Swansea and Everton, complete with betting odds and predictions to help you along with your own soccer pick selections.

Everton continue on solid form

Sportsbooks send Everton into their next fixture as the favourites. However, they are listed on the short side of even money at +138 to win outright at Bet365.

Everton are sat fifth in the league with an 8-7-1 record through 16 laps and 31 points. They are only four points adrift of league leading Arsenal; two points adrift of Liverpool and Chelsea, second and third respectively; and a point shy of fourth placed Man City in the table.

Match day 16 was a fortuitous round for many of the top clubs in the Premier League title chase as Arsenal failed to advance their bid at the top of the table following a defeat to Man City. Had Arsenal won, they would have maintained their five-point edge over the chasers. As it stands, their 6-3 defeat to Man City was pivotal towards shortening the gap and allowing all to stay within touching distance, including Everton – although sportsbooks aren’t exactly buying what they are selling right now in the context of the title race, listing them at a whopping +3300 futures odds to win the title. They are a more reasonable soccer pick at +333 to finish Top 4 this season however.

Everton did their part on match day 16 by beating Fulham to extend their impressive run of form to nine games undefeated home and away. A run of form that includes a statement making win over Manchester United and former boss David Moyes, as well as a commendable 3-3 draw to Liverpool and an impressive 1-1 draw to league leading Arsenal.

To date, Everton have lost the fewest fixtures in Premier League, a solitary defeat to Manchester City is the only blemish on an otherwise prominent season. That defeat came at the Etihad Stadium, which as Premier League betting fans know is the most uncompromising stadium in English football right now. Nobody has managed to serve the Sky Blues a defeat on their personal stomping ground yet.

Overall, Everton are 3-4-1 on the road this season. It’s not as good as their home record, which stands at 5-3-0 at Goodison Park. But it’s still an enviable mark nonetheless. The most important difference between home and away form is offense. At Goodison Park they play more offensive football and score with abandon (17 goals scored and 7 conceded). On the road however, they’ve been a bit stingy on offense with just 10 goals scored and 8 conceded.

Indeed Everton pose a serious challenge to Swansea City and their Top 10 credentials, evinced nowhere more so than by the soccer odds on a home win that are trading around +200 depending on the sportsbook of choice.

Swansea City are currently in tenth place with a 5-5-6 mark and 20 points but the relegation zone is closer than a spot in the Top Four is right now – not that any savvy Premier League fan is seriously entertaining a lofty finish for the Swans, a pipe dream that is listed at +15000 soccer odds at Bet365. Not to mention they are trading at staggering +125000 soccer odds right now to win the title.

That said Swansea have only lost two of their eight home matches this season – they were on the business end of a 4-1 defeat to Man U at the start of the season. As well, they lost to Arsenal 2-1 on September 28. Since the defeat to the Gunners they’ve gone undefeated at Liberty Stadium, a run of form that includes two wins and three draws. It’s also worth mentioning that the Swans managed to hold Liverpool to a 2-2 draw earlier this season. Speaking of the draw, it is trading at +225 at Bet365.

Soccer Betting Verdict

Theoretically, this match could go either way because Everton and Swansea are well matched on paper. That said the former side is more consistent than the latter is this season, a fact that is hard to ignore and suggests that they offer better value on the win at +138 soccer odds.  This is not to underestimate Swansea. The side that held Liverpool to a 3-3 draw and beat Newcastle 3-0 is not to be taken lightly, make no mistake. Certainly, they will fancy their chances on the win even if sportsbooks don’t with hefty +200 soccer odds. Heck, they are even capable of holding Everton to the draw at +225. But we agree with the odds makers here and recommend Everton on the win for your soccer picks because Everton have more attacking options and they have consistently capitalized against teams ranked lower this season.
