The Frogs are currently in the 10th spot in La Liga, with six wins, five draws and eight losses through 19 fixtures. Their overall goal differential is minus nine.
Levante was able to get a good win on Sunday though, surviving to beat Malaga 1-0 at home. David Barral scored his fourth league goal of the season in the first half and the Frogs' defense held their nerve to secure the victory.
Considering Levante hasn't been dominant whatsoever at home, it was a good way to ease the pressure. They've recorded three wins, three draws and three losses in nine matches, while scoring a grand total of nine goals.
A lack of goalscoring has been a huge issue all year long for the Frogs. They've only scored 18 league goals this season, which is actually less than both Rayo and Real Valladolid, both of whom are in the relegation zone right now.
That said, if there's any time the Frogs can find the back of the net against, it's Rayo, as they've allowed more goals than any other side this term.
Always in the shadow of the two other Madrid clubs, Rayo Vallecano is almost an unknown quantity to the casual soccer fan.
Rayo did manage an eighth-place finish last year in La Liga, but it's gone downhill so far this term. They're second-to-last in the standings as of now, ahead of only Real Betis.
Terrible home form hasn't helped at all, with Rayo having lost seven of nine matches inside their own stadium this season. They've allowed 23 goals in those affairs and have actually been the league's worst overall defensive team thus far.
Maybe a 1-0 away win over Getafe this past weekend will be the start of a turnaround for the club. Alberto Bueno scored the lone goal, his sixth of the season, in what was a much needed victory for Rayo.
Now the attention turns to this cup match, one which Rayo would love to win to ease all of the pain they've gone through in La Liga this campaign.

Copa del Rey Pick
It's hardly as if the Frogs have been in fine form throughout the season, but we see them getting past Rayo regardless.
Levante's recent home performances have been very encouraging, as they've won three consecutive matches over Elche (2-1), Recreativo Huelva (4-0) and Malaga (1-0). They've also given a good account of themselves against the likes of Real Madrid (2-3), Real Sociedad (0-0) and Sevilla (0-0) at Ciudad de Valencia.
With that said, we're expecting the Frogs to control this affair against a weaker side in Rayo and earn themselves a spot in the quarter-finals for our free soccer picks.
