Atletico holds the advantage heading into the second leg at home and will be favored on the soccer betting odds board to advance on to the next round of the tournament.

Odds Overview

The Mattress Makers are listed in the -200 to -225 to win outright on Tuesday, with Milan close to +650 in the soccer betting odds. A draw, which would ultimately see Atletico move on, is available at +375 or so at the top sportsbooks.

Atletico Madrid

Soon after that excellent 1-0 away win in the first leg over Milan, the Mattress Makers fell flat on their faces in a 3-0 league defeat against Osasuna.

It was only Atletico's third defeat of the season and one that could prove to be fatal in terms of the race for the league crown, currently occupied by Real Madrid.

The result was exacerbated when the Mattress Makers had their chance to beat Los Blancos two weeks ago. They were ahead 2-1 with only minutes to go, but Cristiano Ronaldo showed his class and guided Real to a crucial point.

This past weekend, however, Atletico got back to business with a comfortable 2-0 away win over Celta Vigo. David Vila was opportunistic and proved to be the difference maker with two quick goals in succession in the 62nd and 64th minutes.

As it stands, the Mattress Makers are now three points back of Real for the top spot in La Liga, though they do hold a one-point advantage over Barcelona as of now. Atletico, though, knows how important a deep European run could be and they should come out fully focused against an extremely experienced Milan outfit.

AC Milan

The Rossoneri responded the right way after losing in the first leg of this European tie, beating Sampdoria 2-0 away from home. They've been unable to sustain any sort of momentum though, having lost consecutive matches to Juventus (2-0) and Udinese (1-0).

In the loss to Udinese, Clarence Seedforf opted to keep the likes of Mario Balotelli, Kaka, Adel Tarrabt and Michael Essien on the bench and his side put forth a punchless performance. Even the introductions of Essien, Balotelli and Taarabt didn't really provide the necessary spark.

It was yet another chapter to what's been a miserable tale in the Serie A for Milan in 2013/14. They're in tenth place and are an incredibly 37 points behind league-leading Juventus.

The Rossoneri are also facing extinction in the Champions League now that they gave up that crucial away goal in the first leg. It's going to be mighty difficult for them to win in Madrid, there's no doubt about that.

In terms of Milan's away form in Europe, it's been mixed. They beat Celtic, lost to Barcelona and tied PSV Eindhoven and Ajax. Will they rise to the occasion on Tuesday?

Champions League Pick

After Milan's recent loss to Udinese, the team's squad depth was called into question and rightly so. That lack of depth could again prove costly here in Madrid against one of the most dangerous sides in the world in Atletico.

It's been wonderful to watch what Diego Simeone has done to transform the club back into a powerhouse and he'll have his gang ready for the test that Milan will bring.

Given Atletico's track record at home, paired with the advantage they hold from the first leg and Milan's recent struggles, we see the home team as the best bet with our soccer picks. Look for the Mattress Makers' quality to shine through again.
