Both sides seem to be on good form with Malaga undefeated in their last four and Porto having four victories out of their last five games.
Most recently Javier Saviola scored the sole goal (and his seventh league goal of the season) as Malaga prepared for their midweek Champions League tie in a 1-0 home win over Athletic Bilbao in La Liga on Saturday. Giving them renewed optimism ahead of their Champions League clash.
Although, yet another Champions League seems to be all about Barcelona who are currently 15/8 with bet365 to lift the trophy, Porto are looking like eighth favourite longshots and run as high as 66/1 to go and lift the Champions League trophy themselves.
Malaga are also offered up at the same odds although some bookmakers have them at 70/1 and others have them as low as 40/1.
How does that translate into a likely winner from this match, I hear you ask?
Well I'm glad you asked
Porto are the clear favourite in the match with the bookmakers they are at 4/5 with bet 365 and 5/6 with Paddy Power, Stan James and Betty Fred. I draw is offered up at 5/2 and a Malaga victory is around about 15/4 mark.
Porto are 4/5 to qualify for the next round while Malaga are 10/11. With that sort of very short odds these if you want to bet with the odds on either side qualifying if you do it before their match kicks off as I get the feeling that after this round of games we will see a clear favourite and all of the odds will be adjusted accordingly.
Of the top online sportsbooks that we follow, most seem to think this will be a low scoring game as the shortest correct score odds or on portal winning 1-0 is offered up at 5/1 and a 1-1 draw is next up at 6/1 followed by a Porto victory with a 2-0 scoreline at 7/1.

What small you'd have to go as high as 13/1 with Bet Victor, to find any score that has Malaga being victorious, that's for a 10 victory. Bookies seem to think that that is the sixth most likely football betting result coming behind two drawers and three Porto victories.
I am more tempted to place my soccer picks on Porto winning 3-1 or 3-0 which are both at 14/1 as that would at least be an exciting match and give you plenty to shout about.
Long story short I can't see this game going in Malaga's favour I think Porto will come out on top and it's properly going to be a clean sheet for the home side and easy progression to the next Champions League stage.
